How To Refabricate An Order

Overview: Initiate a refabrication request through the Dandy Portal to address fit or aesthetic concerns with a previously submitted order. 

Accessing the Refabrication Tool

Users can begin the refabrication process from two primary locations within the portal:

  • Quick Order Actions: Navigate to the Quick Order Actions menu and select Refabricate Order.

  • Portal Orders List: Select Orders from the main navigation, locate the specific order, and select Refabricate Order.

Selecting Products and Identifying Issues

Once the refabrication tool is active, you must specify which items require a remake and why.

Choose Products for Refabrication

If the original order contained multiple items, select the specific product that needs to be refabricated.

Document Quality Concerns

Indicate what aspects of the original product did not meet expectations.

  1. Select the relevant issue from the drop-down menu that appears.

  2. Select multiple items if more than one issue is present.

  3. If the specific issue is not listed, select Other and type the details into the text box provided.

Rescanning and Documentation Requirements

The software provides guidance on whether a new scan is required based on the issue selected.

Fit and Aesthetic Guidelines

  • Fit Issues: For any issues related to how the appliance fits, a rescan of the patient is highly recommended to ensure accuracy.

  • Aesthetic Issues: For issues regarding the appearance or color of the product, a rescan is generally not necessary.

Uploading Supporting Files

To assist the lab, please provide the following documentation:

  • Photos: Uploading photos of the issue is highly recommended for all refabrication types.

  • Additional Notes: Add any specific instructions or context in the Additional Notes section.

Reviewing the New Design

Before the new product is fabricated, you have several options to ensure the design is correct.

Design Preview Options

A Design Preview is recommended for all refabrications to allow for a digital review before fabrication.

  • If a Design Preview is not available for your specific SKU, you may request photos of the design instead.

  • You can schedule a live review session to make necessary edits with a Dandy technician.

  • You can request a video review of the design to be sent for your approval.

Comparing Previous Designs

Use the portal features to see and annotate the previous design to highlight specific areas that require adjustment in the new version.
