3) Contraindications

Not to be used if the patient is allergic to plastics. It is not advised for patients with active periodontal disease.

4) Warnings / Precautions / Potential Risks

⚠WARNING 

• In rare occurrences, patients may be allergic to the thermoplastic polyurethane material of the aligners. Advise patients that if swelling or extreme redness occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult you or other health care professionals.
• In rare occurrences, HAE (hereditary angioedema) patients may experience local swelling, which dental procedures or appliances can trigger. If extreme swelling occurs, advise patients to discontinue use immediately and consult you or other health care professionals.
• Because the aligners are worn in the mouth, accidental swallowing or aspiration of the appliance may occur and may be harmful if not immediately addressed.

• Keep aligners away from hot water and harsh chemical solutions.
• Keep aligners out of reach for both young children and pets. When not in use, store aligners in the provided case.

• Uncharacteristically shaped teeth and missing teeth can potentially extend treatment time and may affect the potential to achieve desired results.
• Existing fixed dental restorations (crowns, bridges) may become dislodged during aligner wear and may require re-cementing or replacement. Any new fixed dental restorations placed during aligner treatment may require a revised treatment plan and new aligner(s).
• Aligner appliances are not effective for the movement of dental implants.
• Certain medications and medical conditions can affect orthodontic treatment. Patients should consult their prescribing physician before beginning treatment.
• Sensitivity and tenderness to teeth may occur during treatment, especially when moving from one aligner step to the next.
• Aligner wear may temporarily affect speech, resulting in a slight lisp. Patients typically adapt quickly to the aligners within a week or two.
• Patients may experience an increase in salivation or dryness of the mouth. Some medications can increase this.
• Extended treatment time may occur due to poor compliance with the doctor’s instructions, wearing aligners less than the prescribed hours, missing appointments, poor oral hygiene, excessive bone growth, or broken appliances. Increased cost and/or the ability to achieve the desired results may occur.
• Irritation of the soft tissue in the mouth (gums, cheeks, tongue, and lips) may occur. Patients should consult with you if this persists.
• Some treatment plans may require “attachments” (small bumps of tooth-colored composite material) to be temporarily bonded to one or more teeth to assist with tooth movement. These are critical to proper movement and should be replaced if they fall off.
• All “attachments” should be removed upon treatment completion.
• Tooth decay, permanent stains or decalcification, and periodontal disease (inflammation of the gums) may occur if proper oral hygiene is not followed and preventive maintenance is not followed.
• In the presence of severe crowding, interproximal reduction (IPR—reducing the thickness of enamel on the tooth) may be required to produce enough space for proper tooth movement and alignment. The risks associated with IPR as part of treatment should be considered.
• The health of the gums and bone, both of which support the patient’s teeth, can be affected by wearing aligners.
• Throughout the course of treatment, the bite will change and may result in temporary patient discomfort in the jaw joint. Although rare, patients may experience joint pain, headaches, or ear problems. Patients should inform their doctor if any of these symptoms occur.
• At the end of the treatment, it may be necessary to adjust the bite.
• All teeth should be at least partially covered by aligners to avoid supra-eruption of the teeth.
• Aligner wear can aggravate teeth, including previously traumatized or significantly restored teeth. In rare occurrences, additional dental treatment might be required, such as, but not limited to, endodontic treatment, additional restorative treatment, or the tooth may be lost.
• Root resorption (shortening of the root of the tooth) can occur during any orthodontic treatment, including aligner appliances, and could threaten the longevity of the teeth.
• Supplemental treatment, in addition to aligner appliances, may be required for severe open bite, overjet, excessive crowding, or skeletal jaw disproportions. All surgery and anesthesia risks must be considered before treatment if oral surgery is required.
• Other fixed and/or removable orthodontic appliances may be required for more complicated treatment plans where aligners alone will not be adequate to achieve the desired outcome.
• Once treatment has been completed, teeth may shift positions if the proper and consistent wearing of retainers is not followed.
• Upon completion of aligner treatment, some cases may require enhancement with additional aligners, traditional orthodontic treatment, and/or cosmetic restorations such as veneers or crowns to achieve ideal results. Successful treatment outcomes are not guaranteed.

5) Cleaning and Care

• Rinse the new aligners with cold water before wearing them.
• If any extractions have been performed before aligner treatment begins, space should be maintained while healing occurs. Attachments should only be applied after healing is completed at the extraction site.
• Review the use and care instructions with the patient.
• Finish placing the attachments and carry out any necessary interproximal reduction (IPR) as the treatment plan dictates.
• Seat the Step #1 aligner on the patient’s teeth and check for tissue impingement or bleaching. If necessary, trim the aligner and polish the trimmed area.
• Each set of aligners is designed to be exchanged with the next step aligner in sequence after approximately two weeks of wearing the aligner(s) for 20–22 hours daily.
• Provide the patient with the first two sets of aligners and Dandy’s Clear Aligner Accessory Kit, which includes an aligner case, aligner OrthoChews™, Clear Aligner cleaning spray, a zippered pouch, a patient education pamphlet, and a tote.
• At follow-up appointments, check teeth for proper interproximal contacts and perform IPR as the treatment plan requires. Check for appropriate aligner stage, fit, and treatment progress.
• If the treatment proceeds as planned, supply the subsequent set of aligners. Monitor the treatment and its progression through monthly appointments unless the treatment plan specifies a different schedule.
• New scans and aligners may be required if treatment requires modifications or refinements.
• At the completion of aligner treatment, retainer wear is highly advised to maintain corrected alignment. Retainer wear should follow the same instructions for aligner wear as described above unless advised otherwise by a dental professional.

Daily Care and Maintenance of Clear Aligners by Patients

• Clean aligners before insertion. Use Dandy’s Aligner Cleaner or a soft-bristled toothbrush and water. Do not expose aligners to hot water.
• Take care to rinse each aligner thoroughly with cool water after cleaning and before wearing.
• It is recommended to clean aligners once a week or as needed using the Dandy Clear Aligner cleaning spray.
• Do not use denture cleaner, whitening toothpaste, or soak aligners in mouthwash. These products can deteriorate the surface of the aligner and cause it to become dull or cloudy.

Do not use:

• Avoid cleaning/immersing the device in sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach), hydrogen peroxide, mouthwash, or alcohol products, as these may damage or discolour the material.

Dandy Aligner Cleaner Instructions

• Remove your trays and dispense up to a full foam pump inside each tray. Spread the foam evenly using the nozzle tip. Place your foam-filled trays back in your mouth, spit out any excess, and let the foam naturally dissipate.

• Proper aligner storage involves keeping them dry, clean, and protected in a dedicated, ventilated case when not in your mouth, ensuring they're fully dry before placing them inside to prevent mold, and always carrying the case to avoid damage or loss, adhering to the 20-22 hour daily wear rule for best results.
• Use the Case: Always use the hard, protective case provided or a similar one to shield aligners from dirt, bacteria, and crushing.
• Keep it Dry & Cool: Before storing, rinse and gently dry your aligners; keep the case in a cool, dry place, away from moisture or extreme heat.
• Ventilation is Key: Ensure the case is slightly open or has vents to prevent moisture buildup, which can lead to odors or mold.
• Clean the Case: Wash the case daily with soap and water to maintain hygiene.
• Carry It Everywhere: Always have your case with you (in a dedicated bag or pouch) when you remove aligners to eat or drink anything other than water.

7) Expected Life / Service

An aligner's “life” depends on treatment duration or how long each tray lasts (1-2 weeks) before switching, with the overall treatment lasting 6 months to 2 years, depending on complexity, while retainers (post-treatment) last 1-2 years.

• En presencia de apiñamiento severo, puede ser necesaria una reducción interproximal (RIP: reducción del grosor del esmalte dental) para crear espacio suficiente que permita un movimiento y una alineación dentarios adecuados. Se deben tener en cuenta los riesgos asociados a la RIP como parte del tratamiento.
• La salud de las encías y del hueso, ambos de soporte de los dientes del paciente, puede verse afectada por el uso de alineadores.
• A lo largo del tratamiento, la oclusión cambiará y puede causar molestias temporales en la articulación mandibular. Aunque es poco frecuente, los pacientes pueden experimentar dolor articular, cefaleas o problemas óticos. Los pacientes deben informar a su facultativo si presentan cualquiera de estos síntomas.
• Al final del tratamiento, puede ser necesario ajustar la mordida.
• Todos los dientes deben estar al menos parcialmente cubiertos por los alineadores para evitar la supraerupción.
• El uso de los alineadores puede agravar el estado de dientes previamente traumatizados o con restauraciones extensas. En casos raros, puede ser necesario un tratamiento dental adicional, como, entre otros, tratamiento endodóncico, tratamiento restaurador adicional o incluso la pérdida del diente.
• Puede producirse reabsorción radicular (acortamiento de la raíz del diente) durante cualquier tratamiento ortodóncico, incluidos los alineadores, lo que podría comprometer la longevidad de los dientes.
• Además de los alineadores, puede ser necesario un tratamiento complementario en casos de mordida abierta severa, resalte excesivo, apiñamiento severo o discrepancias esqueleticas maxilomandibulares. Se deben considerar todos los riesgos de la cirugía y la anestesia antes del tratamiento si se requiere cirugía oral.
• Otros aparatos ortodónticos fijos y/o extraíbles pueden ser necesarios para planes de tratamiento más complicados en los que los alineadores por sí solos no sean adecuados para lograr el resultado deseado.
• Una vez finalizado el tratamiento, los dientes pueden desplazarse si no se sigue un uso adecuado y constante de los retenedores.
• Una vez finalizado el tratamiento con alineadores, algunos casos pueden requerir refinamiento con alineadores adicionales, tratamiento ortodóncico convencional y/o restauraciones estéticas como carillas o coronas para lograr resultados óptimos. Los resultados satisfactorios del tratamiento no están garantizados.

5) Limpieza y cuidado

• Enjuague los nuevos alineadores con agua fría antes de usarlos.
• Si se han realizado extracciones antes de iniciar el tratamiento con alineadores, debe mantenerse el espacio mientras se produce la cicatrización. Las fijaciones solo deben colocarse una vez finalizada la cicatrización en el lugar de extracción.
• Revise con el paciente las instrucciones de uso y cuidado.
• Termine de colocar las fijaciones y lleve a cabo la reducción interproximal (RIP) necesaria según lo indique el plan de tratamiento.
• Coloque el alineador de la fase n.º 1 en los dientes del paciente y compruebe si existe compresión tisular o blanqueamiento. Si es necesario, recorte el alineador y pula la zona recortada.
• Cada juego de alineadores está diseñado para sustituirse por el alineador de la siguiente fase en secuencia tras aproximadamente dos semanas de uso de los alineadores durante 20-22 horas al día.
• Entregue al paciente los dos primeros juegos de alineadores y el kit de accesorios para alineadores transparentes de Dandy, que incluye un estuche para alineadores, OrthoChews™, espray de limpieza para alineadores transparentes, una bolsa con cremallera, un folleto informativo para el paciente y una bolsa de transporte.
• En las visitas de seguimiento, revise los dientes para comprobar que existen contactos interproximales adecuados y realice la RIP según lo requiera el plan de tratamiento. Compruebe que la fase del alineador, el ajuste y la evolución del tratamiento sean adecuados.
• Si el tratamiento continúa según lo previsto, suministre el conjunto posterior de alineadores. Supervise el tratamiento y su evolución mediante citas mensuales, salvo que el plan de tratamiento especifique una pauta diferente.
• Pueden ser necesarios nuevos escaneados y nuevos alineadores si el tratamiento requiere modificaciones o refinamientos.
• Al finalizar el tratamiento con alineadores, se recomienda encarecidamente el uso de retenedores para mantener la alineación corregida. El uso del retenedor debe seguir las mismas instrucciones que el uso de los alineadores descritas anteriormente, salvo indicación en contrario por parte del profesional dental.

Cuidado diario y mantenimiento de alineadores transparentes por parte de los pacientes

• Limpie los alineadores antes de colocarlos. Utilice el limpiador de alineadores Dandy o un cepillo de dientes de cerdas suaves con agua. No exponga los alineadores al agua caliente.
• Asegúrese de enjuagar bien cada alineador con agua fría después de limpiarlo y antes de colocarlo.
• Se recomienda limpiar los alineadores una vez a la semana o según sea necesario utilizando el aerosol limpiador Dandy Clear Aligner.
• No utilice limpiadores de prótesis dentales, dentífricos blanqueadores ni sumerja los alineadores en colutorio. Estos productos pueden deteriorar la superficie del alineador y hacer que se vuelva opaca o turbia.

No utilice:

• Evite limpiar/sumergir el dispositivo en productos de hipoclorito de sodio (lejía con cloro), peróxido de hidrógeno, enjuague bucal o alcohol, ya que podrían dañar o alterar el color del material.

Instrucciones del limpiador del alineador Dandy

6) Almacenamiento

• El almacenamiento adecuado de los alineadores implica mantenerlos secos, limpios y protegidos en un estuche específico y ventilado cuando no los lleve puestos, asegurarse de que estén completamente secos antes de guardarlos para evitar la aparición de moho y llevar siempre el estuche para evitar daños o pérdidas, respetando la pauta de uso diario de 20-22 horas para obtener los mejores resultados.
• Utilice el estuche: Utilice siempre el estuche rígido de protección suministrado, o uno similar, para proteger los alineadores de la suciedad, las bacterias y el aplastamiento.

7) Vida esperada / Servicio

La vida útil de un alineador depende de la duración del tratamiento o del tiempo que dure cada alineador (1-2 semanas) antes de pasar al siguiente, mientras que el tratamiento completo suele durar entre 6 meses y 2 años, según la complejidad, y los retenedores (tras el tratamiento) duran entre 1 y 2 años.

9) Eliminación

• La eliminación de los alineadores puede realizarse mediante programas especiales de reciclaje o devolviéndolos a su ortodoncista para su correcta gestión.
• La recogida selectiva convencional suele rechazarlos debido a la complejidad de su material plástico.

1) Usage prévu (utilisation prévue)

Le système de Dandy Clear Aligners - Dandy (gouttières transparentes Dandy) se compose d’une série de gouttières amovibles en plastique transparent, fabriquées sur mesure et approuvées par un médecin, qui déplacent progressivement les dents définitives du patient, par petits paliers, de leur position initiale incorrecte vers un alignement optimal initial à un état plus optimal, aligné et traité. Ce dispositif médical personnalisé est destiné à être utilisé uniquement par la personne indiquée sur l’emballage.

2) Description du dispositif / Caractéristiques principales

• Le système de gouttières transparentes Dandy est indiqué pour l’alignement des dents définitives dans le cadre d’un traitement orthodontique visant à corriger les malpositions et les malocclusions.

3) Contre-indications

Ne pas utiliser si le patient est allergique aux matières plastiques. Il n’est pas recommandé pour les patients atteints d’une maladie parodontale active.

4) Avertissements / Précautions / Risques potentiels

⚠ AVERTISSEMENTS

• Dans de rares cas, les patients peuvent être allergiques au matériau en polyuréthane thermoplastique des gouttières. Informez les patients que, en cas d’apparition d’un gonflement ou d’une rougeur intense, ils doivent cesser immédiatement l’utilisation du produit et vous consulter ou consulter un autre professionnel de santé.
• Dans de rares cas, les patients atteints d’AOH (angiœdème héréditaire) peuvent présenter un gonflement local, que les interventions ou appareils dentaires peuvent déclencher. En cas de gonflement extrême, conseiller aux patients d’arrêter immédiatement l’utilisation et consulter vous ou d’autres professionnels de la santé.
• Comme les gouttières sont portées dans la bouche, une déglutition ou une aspiration accidentelle de l’appareil peut se produire et peut être nocive s’il n’est pas immédiatement traité.

⚠ PRÉCAUTIONS

Risques potentiels :

• Tenir les gouttières à l’écart de l’eau chaude et des solutions chimiques agressives.
• Garder les gouttières hors de portée des jeunes enfants et des animaux domestiques. Lorsqu’elles ne sont pas utilisées, ranger les gouttières dans le boîtier fourni.
• Le port des gouttières sans respecter l’ordre prévu peut retarder le traitement et entraîner des complications, notamment une gêne pour le patient. Toujours respecter le port prescrit et porter les gouttières correctement.
• Des dents de forme inhabituelle et des dents manquantes peuvent potentiellement prolonger la durée du traitement et peuvent affecter la capacité à obtenir les résultats souhaités.
• Les restaurations dentaires fixes existantes (couronnes, bridges) peuvent se déloger pendant le port des gouttières et nécessiter un recollage ou un remplacement. Toute nouvelle restauration dentaire fixe posée pendant le traitement par gouttières peut nécessiter une révision du plan de traitement et la fabrication de nouvelles gouttières.
• Les gouttières d’alignement ne servent pas à déplacer les implants dentaires.
• Certains médicaments et conditions médicales peuvent affecter le traitement orthodontique. Les patients doivent consulter leur médecin prescripteur avant de commencer le traitement.
• Une sensibilité et une douleur au niveau des dents peuvent apparaître pendant le traitement, en particulier lors du passage d’une gouttière à la suivante.
• Le port d’une gouttière peut temporairement affecter l’élocution, entraînant un léger zézaiement. En général, les patients s’habituent rapidement aux gouttières, en l’espace d’une semaine ou deux.
• Les patients peuvent présenter une augmentation de la salivation ou de la sécheresse de la bouche. Certains médicaments peuvent aggraver ce phénomène.
• La durée du traitement peut être prolongée en raison d’un mauvais respect des consignes du médecin, d’un port des gouttières inférieur au nombre d’heures prescrit, de rendez-vous manqués, d’une mauvaise hygiène bucco-dentaire, d’une croissance osseuse excessive ou de la casse des appareils. Une augmentation des coûts et/ou de la capacité d’atteindre les résultats souhaités peut se produire.
• Une irritation des tissus mous de la bouche (gencives, joues, langue et lèvres) peut se produire. Les patients doivent vous consulter si cela persiste.
• Certains protocoles de traitement peuvent nécessiter la pose temporaire d’« attaches » (petites protubérances en composite de la couleur des dents) sur une ou plusieurs dents afin de faciliter leur déplacement. Elles sont essentielles au bon déroulement du traitement et doivent être remplacées si elles se détachent.
• Toutes les « attaches » doivent être retirées à la fin du traitement.
• Une carie dentaire, des taches permanentes ou décalcification et une maladie parodontale (inflammation des gencives) peuvent se produire si l’hygiène bucco-dentaire n’est pas respectée et si l’entretien préventif n’est pas respecté.
• En présence d’un encombrement important, une réduction interproximale (IPR, qui réduit l’épaisseur de l’émail sur la dent) peut être nécessaire pour créer suffisamment d’espace pour un mouvement et un alignement corrects de la dent. Les risques associés aux DPI dans le cadre du traitement doivent être pris en compte.
• Le port de gouttières peut affecter la santé des gencives et de l’os, qui soutiennent les dents du patient.
• Tout au long du traitement, la morsure changera et peut entraîner une gêne temporaire au niveau de l’articulation de la mâchoire. Bien que rares, les patients peuvent éprouver des douleurs articulaires, des maux de tête ou des problèmes d’oreille. Les patients doivent informer leur médecin si l’un de ces symptômes apparaît.
• À la fin du traitement, il peut être nécessaire d’ajuster la morsure.
• Toutes les dents doivent être au moins partiellement recouvertes par les gouttières afin d’éviter une supra-éruption dentaire.
• Le port de gouttières peut aggraver l’état des dents, notamment celles qui ont déjà subi un traumatisme ou qui ont fait l’objet d’importantes restaurations. Dans de rares cas, un traitement dentaire supplémentaire peut être nécessaire, comme, mais sans s’y limiter, un traitement endodontique, un traitement réparateur supplémentaire, ou la dent peut être perdue.
• La résorption radiculaire (raccourcissement de la racine de la dent) peut se produire pendant tout traitement orthodontique, y compris les appareils d’alignement, et pourrait menacer la longévité des dents.
• Un traitement supplémentaire, en plus des appareils d’alignement, peut être nécessaire en cas de morsure ouverte sévère, de surjet, d’encombrement excessif ou de disproportions de la mâchoire squelettique. Tous les risques chirurgicaux et anesthésiques doivent être pris en compte avant le traitement si une chirurgie buccodentaire est nécessaire.
• D’autres appareils orthodontiques fixes et/ou amovibles peuvent être nécessaires pour des plans de traitement plus compliqués où les gouttières seules ne suffiront pas à atteindre le résultat souhaité.
• Une fois le traitement terminé, les dents peuvent se déplacer si les appareils de contention ne sont pas portés correctement et régulièrement.
• À l’issue du traitement par gouttières, certains cas peuvent nécessiter une mise au point à l’aide de gouttières supplémentaires, d’un traitement orthodontique classique et/ou de restaurations esthétiques telles que des facettes ou des couronnes afin d’obtenir des résultats optimaux. Les résultats positifs du traitement ne sont pas garantis.

5) Nettoyage et entretien

(Instructions relatives aux soins aux patients — selon les directives du professionnel des soins dentaires)

• Rincer les nouvelles gouttières à l’eau froide avant de les mettre.
• Si des extractions ont été effectuées avant le début du traitement par gouttières, il convient de préserver l’espace pendant la cicatrisation. Les attaches ne doivent être posées qu’une fois la cicatrisation terminée au niveau du site d’extraction.
• Revoir les instructions d’utilisation et d’entretien avec le patient.
• Terminer la mise en place des attaches et procéder à toute réduction interproximale (IPR) nécessaire, conformément au plan de traitement.
• Placer la gouttière de l’étape n° 1 sur les dents du patient et vérifier qu’il n’y a pas de contact avec les tissus mous ni de risque de décoloration. Si nécessaire, découper la gouttière et polir la zone découpée.
• Chaque ensemble de gouttières est conçu pour être remplacé par la gouttière suivante de la série après environ deux semaines d’utilisation, à raison de 20 à 22 heures par jour.
• Remettre au patient les deux premiers ensembles de gouttières et le kit d’accessoires pour gouttières transparentes Dandy, qui comprend un boîtier pour gouttières, des OrthoChews™ pour gouttières, un spray nettoyant pour gouttières transparentes, une pochette à fermeture éclair, une brochure d’information destinée au patient et un sac.
• Lors des rendez-vous de suivi, vérifier que les contacts interproximaux entre les dents sont corrects et procéder à un parage interproximal (IPR) si le plan de traitement le prévoit. Vérifier que l’alignement, l’ajustement et l’avancement du traitement sont corrects.
• Si le traitement se déroule comme prévu, fournir l’ensemble de gouttières suivant. Suivre le traitement et son évolution par des rendez-vous mensuels sauf si le plan de traitement prévoit un calendrier différent.
• De nouveaux scans et gouttières peuvent s’avérer nécessaires si le traitement nécessite des modifications ou des améliorations.
• À la fin du traitement par gouttières, il est fortement recommandé de porter un appareil de contention afin de préserver l’alignement obtenu. Le port des appareils de contention doit se faire selon les mêmes instructions que celles décrites ci-dessus pour le port des gouttières, sauf avis contraire d’un professionnel dentaire.

Soins quotidiens et entretien des gouttières transparentes par les patients

• Nettoyer les gouttières avant de les mettre en place. Utiliser le nettoyant pour gouttières Dandy ou une brosse à dents à poils souples et de l’eau. Ne pas exposer les gouttières à l’eau chaude.
• Veiller à rincer soigneusement chaque gouttière à l’eau froide après le nettoyage et avant de la porter.
• Il est recommandé de nettoyer les gouttières une fois par semaine ou selon les besoins à l’aide du spray nettoyant pour gouttières transparentes Dandy.
• Ne pas utiliser de produit nettoyant pour prothèses dentaires ni de dentifrice blanchissant, et ne pas laisser tremper les gouttières dans du bain de bouche. Ces produits peuvent endommager la surface de la gouttière et la rendre terne ou opaque.

Ne pas utiliser :

• Éviter de nettoyer ou de plonger l’appareil dans de l’hypochlorite de sodium (eau de Javel), du peroxyde d’hydrogène, du bain de bouche ou des produits à base d’alcool, car ceux-ci pourraient endommager ou décolorer le matériau.

Instructions pour le nettoyant de gouttières Dandy

• Retirer les plateaux et verser jusqu’à une dose complète de mousse dans chaque plateau. Répartir uniformément la mousse à l’aide de la pointe de l’embout. Remettez les gouttières remplies de mousse dans votre bouche, recracher l’excédent et laisser la mousse se dissiper naturellement.

6) Stockage

• Pour bien conserver vos gouttières, veiller à les garder au sec, propres et à l’abri dans un boîtier dédié et aéré lorsque vous ne les portez pas ; s’assurer qu’elles soient parfaitement sèches avant de les ranger afin d’éviter la formation de moisissures ; emporter toujours le boîtier avec vous pour éviter de les abîmer ou de les perdre ; et respecter la règle des 20 à 22 heures de port quotidien pour obtenir les meilleurs résultats.
• Utilisation du boîtier : Utilisez toujours le boîtier de protection rigide fourni ou un boîtier similaire pour protéger vos gouttières de la saleté, des bactéries et des chocs.
• Conserver au sec et au frais : Avant de ranger, rincer et sécher délicatement vos gouttières ; conserver le boîtier dans un endroit frais et sec, à l’abri de l’humidité ou de la chaleur extrême.
• La ventilation est essentielle : Assurez-vous que le boîtier est légèrement ouvert ou comporte des évents pour éviter l’accumulation d’humidité, ce qui peut entraîner des odeurs ou des moisissures.
• Nettoyer le boîtier : Laver quotidiennement le boîtier à l’eau et au savon pour garantir une bonne hygiène.
• À emporter partout : Toujours transporter le boîtier avec vous (dans un sac ou une pochette dédié) lorsque vous retirez les gouttières pour manger ou boire autre chose que de l’eau.

7) Durée de vie / Service attendu

La « durée de vie » des gouttières dépend de la durée du traitement ou de la durée d’utilisation de chaque gouttière (1 à 2 semaines) avant de passer à la suivante ; le traitement complet dure entre 6 mois et 2 ans, selon la complexité du cas, tandis que les appareils de contention (post-traitement) sont portés pendant 1 à 2 ans.

8) Signalement des incidents / Réclamations

Signaler tout incident grave suspecté lié à cet appareil :

• Au fabricant et/ou à l’entité Dandy EU en utilisant les coordonnées indiquées ci-dessus, et conformément aux exigences locales applicables.

9) Élimination

• L’élimination des gouttières nécessite de recourir à des programmes de recyclage spécifiques ou de les rapporter à votre orthodontiste afin qu’il les traite de manière appropriée.
• Les collectes de recyclage classiques les refusent souvent en raison de la nature complexe de leur plastique.

3) Kontraindikationen

Nicht verwenden, wenn der Patient allergisch auf Kunststoffe reagiert. Für Patienten mit aktiver Parodontitis wird die Anwendung nicht empfohlen.

4) Warnhinweise / Vorsichtsmaßnahmen / Potenzielle Risiken

⚠ WARNHINWEISE

• In seltenen Fällen kann es bei Patienten zu einer Allergie gegen das thermoplastische Polyurethanmaterial der Aligner kommen. Weisen Sie Patienten darauf hin, dass sie die Anwendung sofort abbrechen und Sie oder andere medizinische Fachkräfte konsultieren sollen, wenn Schwellungen oder extreme Rötungen auftreten.
• In seltenen Fällen kann es bei HAE-Patienten (hereditäres Angioödem) zu lokalen Schwellungen kommen, die durch zahnärztliche Eingriffe oder Apparaturen ausgelöst werden können. Bei Auftreten extremer Schwellungen raten Sie den Patienten, die Anwendung sofort abzubrechen und Sie oder andere medizinische Fachkräfte zu konsultieren.
• Da die Aligner im Mund getragen werden, kann es zu einem versehentlichen Verschlucken oder Einatmen des Geräts kommen, was Schädigungen hervorrufen kann, wenn nicht sofort etwas unternommen wird.

⚠ VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN

Mögliche Risiken:

• Halten Sie die Aligner von heißem Wasser und aggressiven Chemikalien fern.
• Bewahren Sie die Aligner außerhalb der Reichweite von Kleinkindern und Haustieren auf. Wenn die Aligner nicht benutzt werden, bewahren Sie sie in der Zahnschienen-Box auf.
• Werden die Aligner nicht in der richtigen Reihenfolge getragen, kann dies die Behandlung verzögern und zu Komplikationen, einschließlich Beschwerden für den Patienten, führen. Halten Sie sich stets an die vorgeschriebene Reihenfolge und tragen Sie die Aligner.
• Ungewöhnlich geformte Zähne und fehlende Zähne können die Behandlungszeit verlängern und die Erfolgsaussichten beeinträchtigen.
• Vorhandene festsitzende Zahnrestaurationen (Kronen, Brücken) können sich während des Tragens von Alignern lösen und müssen dann neu befestigt oder ersetzt werden. Jeglicher während der Aligner-Behandlung eingesetzter neuer festsitzender Zahnersatz kann eine Überarbeitung des Behandlungsplans und die Anfertigung neuer Aligner erforderlich machen.
• Aligner-Apparaturen sind zur Bewegung von Zahnimplantaten nicht geeignet.
• Bestimmte Medikamente und Erkrankungen können die kieferorthopädische Behandlung beeinflussen. Vor Behandlungsbeginn sollten die Patienten ihren behandelnden Arzt konsultieren.
• Während der Behandlung können Sensibilitäten und Druckempfindlichkeit der Zähne auftreten, insbesondere beim Übergang von einer Aligner-Stufe zur nächsten.
• Das Tragen von Alignern kann vorübergehend die Aussprache beeinträchtigen und zu einem leichten Lispeln führen. Die Patienten gewöhnen sich in der Regel recht schnell, innerhalb von ein bis zwei Wochen, an die Aligner.
• Bei den Patienten kann es zu einem vermehrten Speichelfluss oder zu Mundtrockenheit kommen. Manche Medikamente können dies verstärken.
• Eine verlängerte Behandlungsdauer kann durch mangelnde Einhaltung der Anweisungen des Arztes, Tragen der Aligner weniger als die vorgeschriebenen Stunden, Versäumen von Terminen, mangelnde Mundhygiene, übermäßiges Knochenwachstum oder Bruch der Apparatur entstehen. Es können erhöhte Kosten auftreten und/oder die gewünschten Ergebnisse werden ggf. nicht erzielt.
• Es können Reizungen des Weichgewebes im Mund (Zahnfleisch, Wangen, Zunge und Lippen) auftreten. Die Patienten sollten sich mit Ihnen in Verbindung setzen, falls diese anhalten.
• Bei manchen Behandlungsplänen müssen sogenannte Attachments (kleine Erhebungen aus zahnfarbenem Kompositmaterial) vorübergehend an einem oder mehreren Zähnen befestigt werden, um die Zahnbewegung zu erleichtern. Diese sind für eine einwandfreie Bewegung unerlässlich und sollten ersetzt werden, wenn sie abfallen.
• Alle „Attachments“ sollten nach Abschluss der Behandlung entfernt werden.
• Karies, dauerhafte Verfärbungen oder Entkalkung der Zähne sowie Parodontitis (Zahnfleischentzündung) können auftreten, wenn keine ordnungsgemäße Mundhygiene und keine vorbeugende Behandlung durchgeführt wird.
• Bei starkem Zahnengstand kann eine interproximale Reduktion (IPR – Verringerung der Schmelzdicke am Zahn) erforderlich sein, um genügend Platz für eine ordnungsgemäße Zahnbewegung und -ausrichtung zu schaffen. Die Risiken im Zusammenhang mit einer IPR im Rahmen der Behandlung sollten berücksichtigt werden.
• Die Gesundheit des Zahnfleisches und des Kieferknochens, die beide die Zähne des Patienten stützen, kann durch das Tragen von Alignern beeinträchtigt werden.
• Im Verlauf der Behandlung wird sich der Biss verändern, was vorübergehend zu Beschwerden im Kiefergelenk führen kann. Obwohl selten, können bei Patienten Gelenkschmerzen, Kopfschmerzen oder Ohrenprobleme auftreten. Die Patienten sollten ihren Arzt informieren, wenn eines dieser Symptome auftritt.
• Am Ende der Behandlung kann es notwendig sein, den Biss anzupassen.
• Um ein Überwachsen der Zähne zu vermeiden, sollten alle Zähne zumindest teilweise mit Alignern bedeckt sein.
• Das Tragen von Alignern kann Zähne reizen, auch solche, die bereits traumatisiert oder aufwendig restauriert wurden. In seltenen Fällen kann eine zusätzliche zahnärztliche Behandlung erforderlich sein, wie beispielsweise eine Wurzelkanalbehandlung, eine weitere restaurative Behandlung oder der Zahn kann verloren gehen.
• Eine Wurzelresorption (Verkürzung der Zahnwurzel) kann bei jeder kieferorthopädischen Behandlung, einschließlich der Behandlung mit Aligner-Apparaturen, auftreten und die Langlebigkeit der Zähne gefährden.
• Bei schwerem offenem Biss, Überbiss, starkem Zahnengstand oder skelettalen Kieferdisproportionen kann zusätzlich zur Aligner-Therapie eine ergänzende Behandlung erforderlich sein. Vor der Behandlung müssen alle Operations- und Narkoserisiken berücksichtigt werden, falls ein oralchirurgischer Eingriff erforderlich ist.
• Für kompliziertere Behandlungspläne, bei denen Aligner allein nicht ausreichen, um das gewünschte Ergebnis zu erzielen, können andere festsitzende und/oder herausnehmbare kieferorthopädische Apparaturen erforderlich sein.
• Nach Abschluss der Behandlung können sich die Zähne verschieben, wenn die Retainer nicht ordnungsgemäß und konsequent getragen werden.
• Nach Abschluss der Aligner-Behandlung können in einigen Fällen zusätzliche Aligner, eine traditionelle kieferorthopädische Behandlung und/oder kosmetische Restaurationen wie Veneers oder Kronen erforderlich sein, um optimale Ergebnisse zu erzielen. Erfolgreiche Behandlungsergebnisse können nicht garantiert werden.

5) Reinigung und Pflege

• Spülen Sie die neuen Aligner vor dem Tragen mit kaltem Wasser ab.
• Falls vor Beginn der Aligner-Behandlung Zähne entfernt wurden, muss während des Heilungsprozesses Platz dafür geschaffen werden. Attachments sollten erst nach vollständiger Heilung der Extraktionsstelle angebracht werden.
• Besprechen Sie die Gebrauchs- und Pflegehinweise mit dem Patienten.
• Beenden Sie das Aufsetzen der Attachments und führen Sie gegebenenfalls eine interproximale Reduktion (IPR) gemäß dem Behandlungsplan durch.
• Setzen Sie die Zahnschiene aus Schritt 1 auf die Zähne des Patienten und überprüfen Sie, ob Gewebe eingeklemmt wird oder es zu einer Blassfärbung des Zahnfleisches kommt. Kürzen Sie gegebenenfalls die Aligner-Schiene und polieren Sie den gekürzten Bereich.
• Jedes Aligner-Set ist so konzipiert, dass es nach etwa zwei Wochen Tragezeit von 20–22 Stunden täglich gegen das nächste Aligner-Set ausgetauscht werden kann.
• Dem Patienten werden die ersten beiden Aligner-Sets und das Dandy’s Clear Aligner Accessory Kit – Dandy (Aligner-Zubehörset) ausgehändigt, das eine Zahnschienen-Box, Aligner OrthoChews™, ein Clear Aligner Reinigungsspray, einen Reißverschlussbeutel, eine Patienteninformationsbroschüre und eine Tragetasche enthält.
• Bei den Nachkontrollen werden die Zähne auf korrekte Approximalkontakte überprüft und die IPR-Behandlung gemäß Behandlungsplan durchgeführt. Prüfen Sie, ob die Aligner-Phase, die Passform und der Behandlungsfortschritt korrekt sind.
• Wenn die Behandlung wie geplant verläuft, geben Sie das nächste Aligner-Set aus. Überwachen Sie die Behandlung und ihren Verlauf durch monatliche Termine, es sei denn, der Behandlungsplan legt einen anderen Zeitplan fest.
• Wenn die Behandlung Anpassungen oder Verfeinerungen erfordert, sind ggf. neue Scans und Aligner erforderlich.
• Nach Abschluss der Aligner-Behandlung wird das Tragen einer Retainerschiene dringend empfohlen, um die korrigierte Zahnstellung zu erhalten. Falls von einem Zahnarzt nicht anders angegeben, sollte die Trageweise der Retainer den oben beschriebenen Anweisungen für das Tragen des Aligners folgen.

Tägliche Pflege und Wartung der Clear Aligner durch die Patienten

• Reinigen Sie die Aligner vor dem Einsetzen. Verwenden Sie Dandy’s Aligner Cleaner – Dandy (Aligner-Reiniger) oder eine weiche Zahnbürste und Wasser. Die Aligner dürfen nicht mit heißem Wasser gereinigt werden.
• Achten Sie darauf, jeden Aligner nach der Reinigung und vor dem Einsetzen gründlich mit kaltem Wasser abzuspülen.
• Es wird empfohlen, die Aligner einmal pro Woche oder nach Bedarf mit dem Reinigungsspray für transparente Dandy Clear Aligner zu reinigen.
• Verwenden Sie keinen Gebissreiniger, keine aufhellende Zahnpasta und legen Sie die Aligner nicht in Mundspülung. Diese Produkte können die Oberfläche des Aligners beschädigen und dazu führen, dass er stumpf oder trüb wird.

Nicht verwenden:

• Vermeiden Sie es, die Schiene mit Natriumhypochlorit (Chlorbleiche), Wasserstoffperoxid, Mundspülung oder alkoholhaltigen Produkten zu reinigen/einzutauchen, da diese das Material beschädigen oder verfärben können.

Anweisungen für den Dandy Aligner-Reiniger

• Nehmen Sie die Schienen heraus und geben Sie in jede Schiene bis zu einer vollen Schaumpumpe Schaum. Verteilen Sie den Schaum gleichmäßig mit der Düsenspitze. Setzen Sie die mit Schaum gefüllten Schienen wieder in den Mund, spucken Sie überschüssigen Schaum aus und warten Sie, bis der Schaum sich auf natürliche Weise aufgelöst hat.

6) Lagerung

• Zur richtigen Aufbewahrung der Aligner gehört, dass sie trocken und sauber gehalten und in einem separaten, belüfteten Behälter geschützt aufbewahrt werden, wenn sie sich nicht im Mund befinden. Achten Sie darauf, dass sie vollständig trocken sind, bevor Sie sie hineinlegen, um Schimmelbildung zu vermeiden, und tragen Sie die Box stets bei sich, um Beschädigung oder Verlust zu verhindern, während Sie für optimale Ergebnisse die tägliche Tragezeit von 20 bis 22 Stunden einhalten.
• Verwenden Sie die Box: Verwenden Sie stets die mitgelieferte Hartschalen-Box oder einen ähnlichen Behälter, um die Aligner vor Schmutz, Bakterien und Beschädigung zu schützen.
• Trocken und kühl aufbewahren: Die Aligner vor dem Verstauen abspülen und vorsichtig trocknen; die Box an einem kühlen, trockenen Ort aufbewahren, vor Feuchtigkeit und extremer Hitze schützen.

7) Erwartete Lebensdauer / Nutzungsdauer

Die „Lebensdauer“ eines Aligners hängt von der Behandlungsdauer bzw. davon ab, wie lange jede Schiene hält (1–2 Wochen), bevor sie gewechselt werden muss. Die Gesamtbehandlung dauert je nach Komplexität 6 Monate bis 2 Jahre, während die Retainer (nach der Behandlung) 1–2 Jahre halten.

9) Entsorgung

• Die Entsorgung von Alignern erfolgt entweder durch spezielle Recyclingprogramme oder durch Rückgabe an Ihren Kieferorthopäden zur fachgerechten Entsorgung.
• Über die übliche Mülltrennung am Wohnort lassen sie sich aufgrund ihrer komplexen Kunststoffzusammensetzung oft nicht entsorgen.
• Wenn kein Recycling verfügbar ist: Reinigen und verschließen Sie die Aligner in einem Beutel, bevor Sie sie entsorgen, um eine Umweltbelastung zu vermeiden und zu verhindern, dass diese medizinischen Kunststoffe auf den Mülldeponien landen.

3) Controindicazioni

Non utilizzare se il paziente è allergico alla plastica. Non è consigliato per i pazienti con malattia parodontale attiva.

4) Avvertenze / Precauzioni / Rischi potenziali

⚠ AVVERTENZE

• In casi rari, i pazienti possono essere allergici al materiale in poliuretano termoplastico degli allineatori. Informare i pazienti che, in caso di gonfiore o arrossamento estremo, devono interrompere immediatamente l'uso e consultare il medico o altri operatori sanitari.
• In rari casi, i pazienti con HAE (angioedema ereditario) possono manifestare gonfiore locale, che può essere provocato da procedure o apparecchi dentali. In caso di gonfiore estremo, consigliare ai pazienti di interrompere immediatamente l'uso e di consultare il medico o altri operatori sanitari.
• Poiché gli allineatori vengono indossati in bocca, possono verificarsi ingestioni accidentali o aspirazioni dell'apparecchio che possono essere dannose se non risolte immediatamente.

⚠ PRECAUZIONI

Rischi potenziali:

• Tenere gli allineatori lontano da acqua calda e soluzioni chimiche aggressive.
• Tenere gli allineatori fuori dalla portata sia dei bambini sia degli animali domestici. Quando non in uso, conservare gli allineatori nella custodia fornita.
• Gli allineatori indossati fuori dalla sequenza prescritta possono ritardare il trattamento e causare complicanze, compreso il disagio del paziente. Seguire sempre la prescrizione e indossare gli allineatori.
• I denti di forma non tipica e i denti mancanti possono potenzialmente prolungare il tempo di trattamento e influenzare il potenziale raggiungimento dei risultati desiderati.
• I restauri dentali fissi esistenti (corone, ponti) possono staccarsi mentre si portano gli allineatori e potrebbero richiedere una nuova cementazione o sostituzione. Eventuali nuovi restauri dentali fissi posizionati durante il trattamento con l'allineatore potrebbero richiedere una revisione del piano di trattamento e nuovi allineatori.
• Gli apparecchi di allineamento non sono efficaci per il movimento degli impianti dentali.
• Alcuni farmaci e condizioni mediche possono influire sul trattamento ortodontico. Prima di iniziare il trattamento, i pazienti devono consultare il medico prescrittore.
• Durante il trattamento possono verificarsi sensibilità e indolenzimento ai denti, soprattutto quando si passa da una fase di allineamento all'altra.
• L'allineatore, quando portato, può influire temporaneamente sul linguaggio, con conseguente leggera blesità. Normalmente i pazienti si adattano rapidamente agli allineatori nel giro di una settimana o due.
• I pazienti possono manifestare un aumento della salivazione o della secchezza della bocca. Alcuni farmaci possono aumentare questo disagio.
• Un aumento del tempo di trattamento può verificarsi a causa della scarsa conformità alle istruzioni del medico, dell'uso di allineatori per meno tempo rispetto alle ore prescritte, della mancanza presentazione agli appuntamenti, di una scarsa igiene orale, di un'eccessiva crescita ossea o di apparecchi rotti. Può verificarsi un aumento dei costi e/o della capacità di raggiungere i risultati desiderati.
• Può verificarsi irritazione del tessuto molle della bocca (gengive, guance, lingua e labbra). Se questa condizione persiste, i pazienti devono consultarsi con il medico.
• Alcuni piani di trattamento possono richiedere l'uso di "attachment" (piccoli rilievi di materiale composito dello stesso colore dei denti) da legare temporaneamente a uno o più denti per agevolare il movimento dei denti. Questi sono fondamentali per un movimento corretto e devono essere sostituiti se cadono.
• Tutti gli "attachment" devono essere rimossi al termine del trattamento.
• Possono manifestarsi carie dei denti, macchie permanenti o decalcificazione e malattia parodontale (infiammazione delle gengive), se non si segue una corretta igiene orale e se non si segue la manutenzione preventiva.
• In presenza di grave affollamento, può essere necessaria una riduzione interprossimale (IPR: riduzione dello spessore dello smalto sul dente) per produrre uno spazio sufficiente per un corretto movimento e allineamento dei denti. È opportuno considerare i rischi associati all'IPR nell'ambito del trattamento.
• La salute delle gengive e delle ossa, che supportano entrambe i denti del paziente, può essere influenzata dall'uso di allineatori.
• Durante tutto il corso del trattamento, il morso cambierà e potrebbe causare un temporaneo disagio del paziente nell'articolazione della mandibola. Sebbene raramente, i pazienti possono manifestare dolore articolare, mal di testa o problemi alle orecchie. I pazienti devono informare il medico in caso di comparsa di uno qualsiasi di questi sintomi.
• Al termine del trattamento, può essere necessario regolare il morso.
• Tutti i denti devono essere coperti almeno parzialmente da allineatori per evitare la sovra eruzione dei denti.
• L'allineatore, quando portato, può aggravare i denti, inclusi i denti precedentemente traumatizzati o restaurati in modo significativo. In rari casi, potrebbero essere necessari trattamenti dentali aggiuntivi, quali, a titolo esemplificativo ma non esaustivo, trattamenti endodontici, trattamenti rigenerativi aggiuntivi, oppure potrebbe avvenire la perdita del dente.
• Il riassorbimento delle radici (accorciamento delle radici del dente) può verificarsi durante qualsiasi trattamento ortodontico, compresi gli apparecchi di allineamento, e potrebbe minacciare la longevità dei denti.
• Oltre agli apparecchi di allineamento, può essere necessario un trattamento supplementare per il morso aperto severo, l'overjet, l'eccessivo affollamento o la sproporzione scheletrica della mascella. Se è necessario un intervento chirurgico orale, occorre considerare tutti i rischi di intervento chirurgico e anestesia prima del trattamento.
• Altri apparecchi ortodontici fissi e/o rimovibili possono essere necessari per piani di trattamento più complicati in cui gli allineatori da soli non sono adeguati a raggiungere l'esito desiderato.
• Una volta completato il trattamento, i denti possono cambiare posizione se non viene rispettato l'uso corretto e coerente dei retainer.
• Al termine del trattamento di allineamento, in alcuni casi può essere necessario un miglioramento con allineatori aggiuntivi, trattamenti ortodontici tradizionali e/o restauri estetici come faccette dentali o corone per ottenere risultati ottimali. Gli esiti positivi del trattamento non sono garantiti.

5) Pulizia e cura

• Risciacquare i nuovi allineatori con acqua fredda prima di indossarli.
• Se sono state eseguite estrazioni prima dell'inizio del trattamento con l'allineatore, lo spazio deve essere mantenuto durante la guarigione. Gli attachment devono essere applicati solo dopo il completamento della guarigione nel sito di estrazione.
• Esaminare le istruzioni per l'uso e la cura insieme al paziente.
• Terminare il posizionamento degli attachment ed eseguire qualsiasi riduzione interprossimale (IPR) necessaria secondo quanto previsto dal piano di trattamento.
• Posizionare l'allineatore del punto 1 sui denti del paziente e controllare l'eventuale presenza di interferenze o sbiancamento del tessuto. Se necessario, tagliare l'allineatore e lucidare l'area tagliata.
• Ogni set di allineatori è progettato per essere scambiato in sequenza con l'allineatore della fase successiva dopo circa due settimane di utilizzo degli allineatori per 20-22 ore al giorno.

Cura e mantenimento giornalieri degli allineatori trasparenti da parte dei primi pazienti

• Pulire gli allineatori prima dell'utilizzo. Utilizzare il detergente per allineatore Dandy o uno spazzolino da denti con setole morbide e acqua. Non esporre gli allineatori ad acqua calda.
• Prestare attenzione a risciacquare accuratamente ogni allineatore con acqua fredda dopo la pulizia e prima di indossarlo.
• Si raccomanda di pulire gli allineatori una volta alla settimana o secondo necessità utilizzando lo spray detergente per allineatori trasparenti Dandy.
• Non utilizzare detergente per dentiere, dentifricio sbiancante o collutori. Questi prodotti possono deteriorare la superficie dell'allineatore e farla diventare opaca o macchiata.

Non utilizzare:

• Evitare di pulire/immergere il dispositivo in ipoclorito di sodio (candeggina), perossido di idrogeno, collutorio o prodotti contenenti alcol, in quanto potrebbero danneggiare o scolorire il materiale.

Istruzioni per il detergente per allineatore Dandy

• Rimuovere le mascherine ed erogare un pump di schiuma completo all'interno di ciascuna mascherina. Stendere la schiuma uniformemente utilizzando la punta dell'ugello. 6) Conservazione

• L'allineatore viene conservato correttamente se mantenuto asciutto, pulito e protetto in una custodia dedicata e ventilata quando non è in bocca, verificando che sia completamente asciutto prima di posizionarlo all'interno per evitare che si formi la muffa, e trasportando sempre la custodia in modo da evitare danni o perdite, rispettando la regola di utilizzo giornaliero di 20-22 ore per ottenere i migliori risultati.
• Utilizzare la custodia: utilizzare sempre la custodia protettiva rigida fornita o una simile per proteggere gli allineatori da sporcizia, batteri e schiacciamento.
• Mantenerlo asciutto e fresco: prima di riporli, risciacquare e asciugare delicatamente gli allineatori; conservare la custodia in un luogo fresco e asciutto, lontano dall'umidità o dal calore estremo.
• La ventilazione è fondamentale: assicurarsi che la custodia sia leggermente aperta o sia dotata di sfiati per evitare l'accumulo di umidità, che può causare cattivi odori o muffe.
• Pulire la custodia: lavare la custodia ogni giorno con acqua e sapone per mantenere l'igiene.
• Trasportarlo ovunque: quando l'allineatore viene rimosso per mangiare o bere qualcosa di diverso dall'acqua, portare sempre con sé la custodia (in una borsa o una busta dedicata).

7) Durata prevista / Servizio

La "durata" di un allineatore dipende dalla durata del trattamento o dalla durata di ciascuna mascherina (1–2 settimane) prima del cambiamento, con il trattamento complessivo che dura da 6 mesi a 2 anni, a seconda della complessità, mentre i retainer (post-treatment) durano 1–2 anni.

9) Smaltimento

1) Intended Purpose (Intended Use)

The Dandy Clear Aligners System contains a sequence of doctor-approved, custom-processed, clear plastic removable aligners that gradually move the patient’s permanent teeth in small increments from their original misalignment to a more optimal, aligned, and treated state. This personalized medical device is intended only for use by the individual specified on the packaging.

2) Device Description / Key Specifications

• The Dandy Clear Aligners System is indicated for use in the alignment of permanent teeth through orthodontic treatment of misalignment and malocclusion.

3) Contraindications

Not to be used if the patient is allergic to plastics. It is not advised for patients with active periodontal disease.

4) Warnings / Precautions / Potential Risks

⚠WARNING 

• In rare occurrences, patients may be allergic to the thermoplastic polyurethane material of the aligners. Advise patients that if swelling or extreme redness occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult you or other health care professionals.
• In rare occurrences, HAE (hereditary angioedema) patients may experience local swelling, which dental procedures or appliances can trigger. If extreme swelling occurs, advise patients to discontinue use immediately and consult you or other health care professionals.
• Because the aligners are worn in the mouth, accidental swallowing or aspiration of the appliance may occur and may be harmful if not immediately addressed.

⚠CAUTION 

Potential Risks:

• Keep aligners away from hot water and harsh chemical solutions.
• Keep aligners out of reach for both young children and pets. When not in use, store aligners in the provided case.
• Aligners worn out of sequence can delay treatment and result in complications, including patient discomfort. Always follow the prescribed order and wear aligners.
• Uncharacteristically shaped teeth and missing teeth can potentially extend treatment time and may affect the potential to achieve desired results.
• Existing fixed dental restorations (crowns, bridges) may become dislodged during aligner wear and may require re-cementing or replacement. Any new fixed dental restorations placed during aligner treatment may require a revised treatment plan and new aligner(s).
• Aligner appliances are not effective for the movement of dental implants.
• Certain medications and medical conditions can affect orthodontic treatment. Patients should consult their prescribing physician before beginning treatment.
• Sensitivity and tenderness to teeth may occur during treatment, especially when moving from one aligner step to the next.
• Aligner wear may temporarily affect speech, resulting in a slight lisp. Patients typically adapt quickly to the aligners within a week or two.
• Patients may experience an increase in salivation or dryness of the mouth. Some medications can increase this.
• Extended treatment time may occur due to poor compliance with the doctor’s instructions, wearing aligners less than the prescribed hours, missing appointments, poor oral hygiene, excessive bone growth, or broken appliances. Increased cost and/or the ability to achieve the desired results may occur.
• Irritation of the soft tissue in the mouth (gums, cheeks, tongue, and lips) may occur. Patients should consult with you if this persists.
• Some treatment plans may require “attachments” (small bumps of tooth-colored composite material) to be temporarily bonded to one or more teeth to assist with tooth movement. These are critical to proper movement and should be replaced if they fall off.
• All “attachments” should be removed upon treatment completion.
• Tooth decay, permanent stains or decalcification, and periodontal disease (inflammation of the gums) may occur if proper oral hygiene is not followed and preventive maintenance is not followed.
• In the presence of severe crowding, interproximal reduction (IPR—reducing the thickness of enamel on the tooth) may be required to produce enough space for proper tooth movement and alignment. The risks associated with IPR as part of treatment should be considered.
• The health of the gums and bone, both of which support the patient’s teeth, can be affected by wearing aligners.
• Throughout the course of treatment, the bite will change and may result in temporary patient discomfort in the jaw joint. Although rare, patients may experience joint pain, headaches, or ear problems. Patients should inform their doctor if any of these symptoms occur.
• At the end of the treatment, it may be necessary to adjust the bite.
• All teeth should be at least partially covered by aligners to avoid supra-eruption of the teeth.
• Aligner wear can aggravate teeth, including previously traumatized or significantly restored teeth. In rare occurrences, additional dental treatment might be required, such as, but not limited to, endodontic treatment, additional restorative treatment, or the tooth may be lost.
• Root resorption (shortening of the root of the tooth) can occur during any orthodontic treatment, including aligner appliances, and could threaten the longevity of the teeth.
• Supplemental treatment, in addition to aligner appliances, may be required for severe open bite, overjet, excessive crowding, or skeletal jaw disproportions. All surgery and anesthesia risks must be considered before treatment if oral surgery is required.
• Other fixed and/or removable orthodontic appliances may be required for more complicated treatment plans where aligners alone will not be adequate to achieve the desired outcome.
• Once treatment has been completed, teeth may shift positions if the proper and consistent wearing of retainers is not followed.
• Upon completion of aligner treatment, some cases may require enhancement with additional aligners, traditional orthodontic treatment, and/or cosmetic restorations such as veneers or crowns to achieve ideal results. Successful treatment outcomes are not guaranteed.

5) Cleaning and Care

• Rinse the new aligners with cold water before wearing them.
• If any extractions have been performed before aligner treatment begins, space should be maintained while healing occurs. Attachments should only be applied after healing is completed at the extraction site.
• Review the use and care instructions with the patient.
• Finish placing the attachments and carry out any necessary interproximal reduction (IPR) as the treatment plan dictates.
• Seat the Step #1 aligner on the patient’s teeth and check for tissue impingement or bleaching. If necessary, trim the aligner and polish the trimmed area.
• Each set of aligners is designed to be exchanged with the next step aligner in sequence after approximately two weeks of wearing the aligner(s) for 20–22 hours daily.
• Provide the patient with the first two sets of aligners and Dandy’s Clear Aligner Accessory Kit, which includes an aligner case, aligner OrthoChews™, Clear Aligner cleaning spray, a zippered pouch, a patient education pamphlet, and a tote.
• At follow-up appointments, check teeth for proper interproximal contacts and perform IPR as the treatment plan requires. Check for appropriate aligner stage, fit, and treatment progress.
• If the treatment proceeds as planned, supply the subsequent set of aligners. Monitor the treatment and its progression through monthly appointments unless the treatment plan specifies a different schedule.
• New scans and aligners may be required if treatment requires modifications or refinements.
• At the completion of aligner treatment, retainer wear is highly advised to maintain corrected alignment. Retainer wear should follow the same instructions for aligner wear as described above unless advised otherwise by a dental professional.

Daily Care and Maintenance of Clear Aligners by Patients

• Clean aligners before insertion. Use Dandy’s Aligner Cleaner or a soft-bristled toothbrush and water. Do not expose aligners to hot water.
• Take care to rinse each aligner thoroughly with cool water after cleaning and before wearing.
• It is recommended to clean aligners once a week or as needed using the Dandy Clear Aligner cleaning spray.
• Do not use denture cleaner, whitening toothpaste, or soak aligners in mouthwash. These products can deteriorate the surface of the aligner and cause it to become dull or cloudy.

Do not use:

• Avoid cleaning/immersing the device in sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach), hydrogen peroxide, mouthwash, or alcohol products, as these may damage or discolour the material.

Dandy Aligner Cleaner Instructions

• Remove your trays and dispense up to a full foam pump inside each tray. Spread the foam evenly using the nozzle tip. Place your foam-filled trays back in your mouth, spit out any excess, and let the foam naturally dissipate.

6) Storage

• Proper aligner storage involves keeping them dry, clean, and protected in a dedicated, ventilated case when not in your mouth, ensuring they're fully dry before placing them inside to prevent mold, and always carrying the case to avoid damage or loss, adhering to the 20-22 hour daily wear rule for best results.
• Use the Case: Always use the hard, protective case provided or a similar one to shield aligners from dirt, bacteria, and crushing.
• Keep it Dry & Cool: Before storing, rinse and gently dry your aligners; keep the case in a cool, dry place, away from moisture or extreme heat.
• Ventilation is Key: Ensure the case is slightly open or has vents to prevent moisture buildup, which can lead to odors or mold.
• Clean the Case: Wash the case daily with soap and water to maintain hygiene.
• Carry It Everywhere: Always have your case with you (in a dedicated bag or pouch) when you remove aligners to eat or drink anything other than water.

7) Expected Life / Service

An aligner's “life” depends on treatment duration or how long each tray lasts (1-2 weeks) before switching, with the overall treatment lasting 6 months to 2 years, depending on complexity, while retainers (post-treatment) last 1-2 years.

9) Disposal
