Overview: This article provides instructions on how to attach supplemental scans, image files, or photos to an existing patient order using the Dandy portal.
Prerequisites
An active patient order has already been created in the Dandy portal.
Digital files (scans, JPEG, or PNG) saved on your local device or accessible via a mobile device for QR scanning.
Access the Upload Menu
To begin the upload process, navigate to the specific patient order within the Dandy portal. Locate and select the Upload file or image link on the order page.
Select Scans or Files
Once the upload link is selected, the portal displays the Upload image or file menu. You can add files using two methods:
Select files button: Choose files directly from your computer's local storage.
QR code: Scan the on-screen QR code with a mobile device to upload photos or files directly from that device.
After the files are selected, a list of the chosen files will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Review this list and select Next to proceed.
Categorize Uploaded Content
On the next screen, you must define how the designer should use the uploaded files.
File Categorization: Use the dropdown menu next to each file to select the appropriate category (e.g., Scan, Photo, or Supplemental).
Special Case for Aligners: For Aligner cases, the only available dropdown selection is Scan.
File Management: You may select the Preview icon to view a file or the Trashcan icon to remove an incorrect file before finalizing the upload.
Finalize the Order Update
After categorizing all files, follow these steps to complete the process:
Select the Checkmark at the bottom of the screen to acknowledge that adding new files may adjust the delivery date.
Select Upload Files as New Order to submit the files.
A confirmation message will appear in the lower-left corner of the portal once the files are successfully added to the patient order.
