Create and Manage a New Patient Case

Overview: Learn how to start a new case in Chairside by entering patient information and selecting specific restoration details for an appointment. 

Create a New Patient Case

Follow these steps to initiate a new case for a patient:

  1. Access the Home Page: Select the Start button located near the Start a case title.

  2. Enter Patient Details: Input the patient's first name, last name, gender, and date of birth.

  3. Confirm Entry: Click Create & Continue to save the patient details.

  4. Select Scan Category: Choose the appropriate category for the scan, such as Fixed Restorations, Dentures, or Implant Solutions.

  5. Identify Restoration: Select the specific restoration or prosthesis needed for the appointment from the subsequent menu.

  6. Select Location: Choose the tooth number or arch when prompted by the Chairside software and click Next.

  7. Select Material: Choose the material for the future restoration and click Next.

  8. Define Shade: Select the shade for the restoration and click Add to Order.

  9. Choose Next Action: Select one of the following options from the final menu:

    • Start scanning: Advances the user to the scanning menus.

    • Add another item: Adds an additional item to the current order.

    • Edit restoration/prosthesis: Updates information regarding tooth number, material, or shade.

Access Scan Training Mode

If users need to practice scanning techniques, use Training Mode to simulate the process without creating a live order:

  1. Enter Training Mode: Select the Training Mode button on the home page under the Start a case title.

  2. Define Training Parameters: Follow the same selection process as a standard case (selecting category, restoration, tooth number, material, and shade) to begin the practice session.
