Video Calls for Case Planning and Design Reviews: How to Schedule, Join, Reschedule, or Cancel Your Appointment

Overview: Dandy users can collaborate with lab technicians via video calls to plan complex cases, approve designs in real-time, and increase case confidence.  Schedule and manage 15-minute video consultations with lab technicians to plan complex dental cases for crowns, bridges, implants, physical wax-ups, dentures, and flexi partials.

Case Planning Consultations

Users can speak with a technician about upcoming cases to determine the best clinical approach.

  • Access Method: Click Get Support in the top navigation bar of the Dandy Portal or Chairside software.

  • Booking: Select the case planning session option from the sidebar to schedule the call.

Live Design Reviews

Users can view a design on-screen and provide feedback while a technician applies adjustments in real-time.

  • Access Method: Book a review session while adding a Design Preview during the checkout process.

  • Alternative Method: Schedule a review while evaluating an existing Design Preview within the Dandy Portal.

Manage Case Planning Appointments

Schedule a Review via the Doctor Portal

Follow these steps to book a session for an existing order:

  1. Log into the Portal: Access the Doctor Portal at practice.meetdandy.com and select the Orders tab.

  1. Locate the Order: Find the specific case from the Order List and click the patient's name to open the Order Details page.

  1. Open the Scheduler: Click the Talk with a Lab Technician button to launch the scheduling tool.

  1. Select Date and Time: Choose an available 15-minute time slot from the calendar prompts.

  1. Confirm Booking: Complete the process to receive a confirmation email with meeting details.

Schedule a Review During Chairside Checkout

Follow these steps to book a session while submitting a new order:

  1. Add Design Preview: At the checkout screen, select the option to include a Digital Design Preview.

  2. Place Order: Click the Place order button to submit the case.

  3. Initiate Scheduling: On the Order Confirmation page, click Schedule a Talk with a Lab Technician when the window appears.

  4. Book Slot: Follow the prompts to select your preferred date and time.

Join a Live Design Review Call

Follow these steps at the time of your scheduled appointment:

  1. Access the Order: Log into the Doctor Portal and navigate to the Orders tab.

  2. Open Order Details: Click the patient's name for the relevant scheduled order.

  3. Launch Video Call: Click Join with Google Meet located within the Order Tracker section to enter the session.

Reschedule or Cancel an Appointment

To modify an existing appointment, use your confirmation email or Google Calendar event:

  • Reschedule: Click the Reschedule link in the email/calendar event and select a new time.

  • Cancel: Click the Cancel link in the email/calendar event to remove the appointment.

  1. How long are case planning appointments?

    • All case planning appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes.

  2. What case types are supported for Live Design Reviews? 

    • Dandy currently supports live reviews for anterior and posterior: Crowns, Bridges, Implants, and Physical Wax-ups, as well as Dentures (Complete), and Flexible Partial Dentures. Additional products will be added in the future.
