Overview: This guide provides suggested cementation systems for various dental restoration materials, including Lithium Disilicate, Zirconia, Alloy, and Abutments.

Material Cementation Guidelines

Dandy does not endorse a specific type of cement; however, clinicians may use the following guidelines to select appropriate options based on material type and restoration needs.

Lithium Disilicate

Lithium Disilicate (such as IPS e.max CAD) is typically used for anterior and posterior crowns, as well as 3-unit bridges up to the second bicuspid.

  • Attachment Method: Bond, then resin cement.

Zirconia

Zirconia materials (Monolithic 3Y and Translucent 4Y) are suitable for anterior and posterior crowns, 3-unit bridges, implants, and Maryland bridges.

  • Attachment Method: Cement.

Alloy (PFM and Full Metal)

Alloy restorations, including Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM) and Full Metal, are used for anterior and posterior crowns, 3-unit bridges, implants, and Maryland bridges.

    • Panavia™ SA Cement Universal

Abutments

For permanent extraoral bonding of structures made from lithium disilicate glass-ceramic, zirconium oxide, or PMMA on titanium bonding bases.

  • Attachment Method: Bond and Cement.
