How to Manually review Denture and Partial Denture Scans

Step-by-step dental intraoral scanning review guide for Chairside, 3Shape Unite, & Scan Pro to ensure accurate bite & data capture for dentures and partials.

Review Scans in Chairside

  1. Check each individual scan step to ensure each one has a green check mark
  2. Check to make sure there is no missing scan data or distortions on each scan
  3. Check that the bite matches the patient's clinical bite
  4. Go to the review step
  5. Click “HD” on the left side toolbar 
  6. Wait for scans to load in HD
  7. Check scans to ensure there is no distortions
  8. Check to ensure there is no stitching issues
  9. Check that the ridge is completely captured
  10. Check that the tissue attachments are captured
  11. Double-check the bite is accurate to what is seen clinically 
  12. If there are any scan areas that do not look adequate, please rescan until they are

Review Scans in 3Shape Unite

  1. Make sure the lab selected is Dandy
  2. Check to make sure there is no missing scan data or distortions on each scan
  3. Check that the bite matches the patient's clinical bite
  4. Go to the post-process step
  5. Click “post-process” under the scans
  6. Wait for the scans to load
  7. Check scans to ensure there is no distortions
  8. Check to ensure there is no stitching issues
  9. Check that the ridge is completely captured
  10. Check that the tissue attachments are captured
  11. Double-check the bite is accurate to what is seen clinically 
  12. If there are any scan areas that do not look adequate, please rescan until they are

Review Scans in Scan Pro / Alliedstar

  1. Verify all scan steps are completed
  2. Check to make sure there is no missing scan data or distortions on each scan
  3. Check that the bite matches the patient's clinical bite
  4. Double-check the bite is accurate and matches what is seen clinically
  5. Check scans to ensure there is no distortions
  6. Check to ensure there is no stitching issues
  7. Check that the ridge is completely captured
  8. Check that the tissue attachments are captured
  9. Double-check the bite is accurate to what is seen clinically
