Overview: This article guides clinicians in selecting the optimal case setup workflow for implant-supported overdentures using Dandy Chairside software based on specific patient clinical scenarios.

Select Workflow Based on Existing Case Setup

Clinicians should use the Existing Case setup workflow when the patient meets the following clinical criteria:

  • The patient can establish a stable bite with their current denture.

  • The patient has two or more restorable implants on the same arch.

Select Workflow for Wax Rim Case Setup

Clinicians should use the Wax Rim case setup workflow when the patient meets the following clinical criteria:

What is a Wax Rim?

  • The patient cannot establish a stable bite with their current dentition or current denture.

  • The patient has two or more restorable implants on the same arch.

Select Workflow for Dual Scan Protocol

The Tissue-Supported Surgical Guide (Dual Scan Protocol) workflow applies to patients who require a surgical guide for immediate implant placement. Use this workflow if the patient meets the following requirements:

  • The patient can establish a stable bite with a current well-fitting denture.

  • The clinician intends to convert the existing denture to an implant-retained overdenture following surgery.

Select Workflow for Extractions and Surgery

The Implant-Supported Immediate Overdenture with Extractions & Surgery case setup applies to patients requiring surgical removal of teeth followed by immediate loading. Use this workflow if the patient meets the following criteria:

  • The patient can establish a stable bite with their natural dentition.

  • The patient requires surgical extraction of their natural dentition.

  • The patient requires a surgical guide for immediate implant placement and immediate load of an overdenture.
