Overview: This article provides instructions for exporting and preparing DICOM files from Pancorp Encompass software for upload to the Dandy portal. Following these steps ensures the scan data is at the correct resolution for implant surgery planning.
Create a Destination Folder
Right-click on an empty space on the computer desktop.
Select New, then select Folder.
Type the patient's name to rename the folder and press Enter on the keyboard.
Export DICOM Files via Drag-and-Drop
Open the Master Database in the Pancorp Encompass software.
Click the patient’s scan once to select it. Note: Do not open the scan.
Locate the Data Source section on the left side of the screen.
Click the plus sign (+) next to My Computer to expand the file directory.
Left-click and hold the patient’s scan, then drag it directly onto the desktop folder created in the previous section.
Verify the Exported Files
Open the patient folder on the desktop.
Confirm that the folder contains the multi-file DICOM set.
Verify there are several hundred files and that they all end in the .dcm extension.
Compress and Upload the Patient Folder
Before uploading to Dandy, the folder must be compressed (zipped) to ensure all data remains intact during the transfer.
Right-click the renamed patient folder.
Select Send to, then select Compressed (zipped) folder.
Note: If you are following a Dual Scan Protocol, zip the "Patient Scan" and "Denture Scan" individually and label them accordingly.
Upload the compressed folder to the Dandy Portal or email the file to ImplantSurgery@meetdandy.com.
