Overview: This article provides instructions for exporting and preparing DICOM files from VaTech CBCT softwares for upload to the Dandy portal. Following these steps ensures the scan data is at the correct resolution for implant surgery planning.
VaTech (EZDenti-i)
Create a Destination Folder
Right-click on an empty space on the computer desktop.
Select New, then select Folder.
Type the patient's name to rename the folder and press Enter on the keyboard.
Export DICOM Files from VaTech (EZDenti-i)
Open the VaTech EZDenti-i software.
Select the desired patient from the database.
Right-click on the specific CBCT scan and select Export.
When the export pop-up window appears, verify that several hundred .dcm files are listed.
Click on Local Disk, then click Export.
In the second pop-up window, navigate to the desktop and select the patient folder created in the previous section.
Click Select Folder to begin the export.
Click OK once the confirmation pop-up appears to verify the export is complete.
Compress and Upload the Patient Folder
Before uploading to Dandy, the folder must be compressed (zipped) to ensure all data remains intact during the transfer.
Right-click the renamed patient folder.
Select Send to, then select Compressed (zipped) folder.
Note: If you are following a Dual Scan Protocol, zip the "Patient Scan" and "Denture Scan" individually and label them accordingly.
Upload the compressed folder to the Dandy Portal or email the file to ImplantSurgery@meetdandy.com.
VaTech (3DPlus)
Create a Destination Folder
Right-click on an empty space on the computer desktop.
Select New, then select Folder.
Type the patient's name to rename the folder and press Enter on the keyboard.
Export DICOM Files from VaTech (3DPlus)
Open the patient image in VaTech 3DPlus.
In the top menu, click Tools.
Select Export, then click Memory.
A file browser window will appear. Navigate to your Desktop and select the folder you created in Step 1.
Click OK to begin the export process.

Export DICOM Files from VaTech (Ez3D-i)
Open the patient scan in the VaTech Ez3D-i software.
Click on the Main Menu and select Export.
When the export pop-up box appears, configure the following settings:
Save Type: Select Local Disk.
Compression: Select Lossless.
Format: Check the box for DCM Files.
Click Save
