The AI Scan Review feature in Dandy Chairside helps you identify prep issues in real time—before sending your case to the lab. Using artificial intelligence, the system reviews your scan for undercuts, insufficient occlusal clearance, and other common prep issues that can affect restoration fit.
This gives you instant feedback while the patient is still in the chair, reducing remakes, eliminating adjustments, and improving patient satisfaction.
What AI Scan Review Does
After you complete your prep scan in Chairside, the AI automatically:
- Analyzes your prep in under 30 seconds
- Flags undercuts or clearance issues if detected
- Visually highlights problem areas on the 3D scan model
- Provides recommended next steps, such as refining the prep, adjusting the margin, or re-scanning
No manual activation is needed—AI Scan Review runs automatically once your prep scan is complete.
What You’ll See in Chairside
On the review screen after scanning your prep, you will see the AI Scan Review panel on the right side of your Chairside screen. It will automatically begin processing.
- A side panel on the Review screen appears with a summary of the issue and a link to review it more closely. (Figure 1)
- The affected area is shaded on-screen (purple shading indicates a possible undercut or insufficient clearance).
The AI provides step-by-step guidance and options to fix the issue:
