Overview: Learn how to configure, scan, and submit iTero crown and bridge cases to Dandy for fixed restorations
Configure Crown Case Details
Select New Scan on the iTero home screen.
Enter the first name, last name, date of birth, and gender of the patient.
Select Fixed Restorative for the Procedure type.
Select Crown for the order Type.
Select the specific tooth in the iTero on-screen diagram to apply the order type.
Select Dandy as the lab in the Send to field.
Input the shade and additional restoration details by clicking the tooth in the iTero diagram.
Configure Bridge Case Details
Select New Scan on the iTero home screen.
Enter the first name, last name, date of birth, and gender of the patient.
Select Fixed Restorative for the Procedure type.
Select Bridge for the order Type.
Select the teeth directly in the iTero diagram to specify the span of the bridge.
Indicate which teeth are abutments and which are pontics within the iTero diagram.
Select the material, shade, and any other specifications.
Select Dandy as the lab in the Send to field.
Perform iTero Scanning Workflow
To begin the scanning process, click the Scanner icon in the ribbon located at the top of the iTero screen.
Scan the Preparation Site
Center the preparation site within the iTero viewfinder crosshair.
Begin scanning with an occlusal view of the preparation to visualize the margin.
Roll the iTero wand from the lingual side to the buccal side of the preparation.
Roll the iTero wand from the distal side to the mesial side of the preparation.
Review the scan immediately and fill any significant voids in the digital model.
Scan the Upper and Lower Arches
Identify which arch to scan first by following the blue outline on the iTero screen.
Move the iTero wand in a path following the occlusal surfaces.
Move the iTero wand along the lingual surfaces.
Move the iTero wand along the buccal surfaces.
Capture the Bite Registration
Direct the patient to bite down into their natural occlusion.
Use an upper and lower "swooping" motion with the iTero wand to scan from the posterior teeth to the canine.
Repeat the swooping motion on both the left and right sides of the mouth.
Confirm a purple overlay appears on both sides of the digital model to indicate the bite is successfully articulated.
Review and Submit the Order
Select the Magnifying Glass icon from the top ribbon to process the scans.
Review the completed scans for accuracy and detail.
Click the Mail icon to open the submission window.
Select Send when the confirmation pop-up appears to submit the case to Dandy.
