Overview: Learn how to assemble your equipment cart, configure the laptop, and connect your Dandy Trios scanner to prepare for training.
Prerequisites
Assembly Assistance: Dandy recommends two people for the equipment cart assembly.
Power Access: Ensure a wall outlet is available for the laptop and wall-powered scanner variants.
Time Requirement: Complete these steps at least 72 hours before your scheduled Launch Training.

Configure the Laptop
Set up the laptop to prepare for the Chairside software installation:
Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet and the laptop.
Power On: Turn on the laptop and connect the Dell laptop to a stable Wi-Fi network.
Log in: When the log in screen appears, click enter. There is no password required for login.
Connect Wifi: Connect you Dandy Laptop to your wifi network.

Maintain Charge: The Dandy Laptop should remain plugged in "Charging," at all times during scanning.
Failure to do so can lead to slow equipment and low scan quality.
Identify Your Scanning Device
Look for the following identifiers to determine your scanner model.
- If there are 2 buttons on the scanner - Proceed to Dandy Vision Setup
- If there is a Blue Strip on the base of the scanner - Proceed to Dandy Wired USB-C Setup
- If there is a Green Stripe on the base of the scanner - Proceed to Dandy Wired Ethernet Setup
- If the Scanner says "Trios" and is wireless - Proceed to Dandy Wireless Setup
Dandy Wired USB-C Setup
Follow these steps if your Dandy Trios scanner uses a USB-C cable for power:
Position the Base: Place the scanner base on the cart.
Connect to Laptop: Plug the USB-C cable from the scanner directly into the Dell laptop
Connect the Wand: Insert the scanner wand into the base, aligning the red dots on the cable and base.
Dandy Wired Ethernet Setup
Follow these steps if your Dandy Trios scanner includes a standard wall plug:
Position the Base: Place the scanner base on the cart.
Connect the Wand: Insert the scanner wand into the base, aligning the red dots on the cable and base.
Establish Power: Plug the power cable into a wall outlet and the scanner base. Confirm the green light on the base is illuminated.
Connect to Laptop: Plug the ethernet cable directly from the scanner base into the Dell laptop.
Dandy Wireless Setup
Assemble Scanner Hardware
Follow these steps to prepare the scanner hardware for use:
Connect Battery Power: Plug the battery charger power cable into the battery charger and a standard wall outlet.
Prepare Batteries: Remove the protective tape from the metal contacts on each battery.
Charge Batteries: Place two batteries into the battery charger. A battery is fully charged when all five LED lights on the battery surface are illuminated.
Position Equipment: Place the scanner pod on a stable workspace and rest the scanner wand inside the pod.
Install Wireless Adapter: Plug the TP-Link wireless adapter into a USB port on the laptop. If necessary, use the included USB hub.
Restart System: Restart the laptop once the TP-Link adapter and the small green USB dongle are both connected.
Connect Scanner to Chairside Software
Once the hardware is assembled, link the scanner to the software:
Disconnect Wired Equipment: If a Dandy Trios Wired scanner is currently connected, unplug that wired scanner from the laptop.
Open Connection Settings: Open the Dandy Chairside application and select the option labeled Using a Dandy Trios Wireless? Connect.
Identify Scanner: Enter the scanner serial number (found on the device, preceded by "SN") and assign an office name for the scanner.
Insert Battery: Remove one charged battery from the charger and insert the battery into the base of the scanner wand.
Confirm Connection: Press Continue in the software. The Dandy Trios Wireless should now appear as the "Selected scanner".
