Maintain Charge: The Dandy Laptop should remain plugged in "Charging," at all times during scanning.
Failure to do so can lead to slow equipment and low scan quality.
Launching Chairside Software
Locate the Chairside – Dandy Vision shortcut icon on the desktop screen. Double-click the icon to open the Chairside software. Follow the step-by-step on-screen configuration prompts within the Chairside software to complete the profile setup, billing setup, training preparation, and scanner configuration.
Connecting Dandy Vision Scanner Hardware
Locate the USB-A to USB-C scanner connection cable. Insert the USB-A end of the connection cable into an available USB port on the laptop. Insert the USB-C end of the connection cable into the base of the Dandy Vision scanner. Ensure both ends of the connection cable are fully seated and securely connected to ensure stable data transmission.
Managing Scanner Sleep Mode Behavior
The Dandy Vision scanner features an automatic sleep mode to conserve power. If there is no scanning tip attached to the Dandy Vision scanner, the Chairside software may display the scanner connection status as Disconnected. This status represents expected power-saving behavior and does not indicate a hardware malfunction. Attaching a scanning tip to the Dandy Vision scanner will automatically reactivate the scanner hardware connection.
Verifying Scanner Setup Completion
Once the Dandy Vision scanner is successfully connected to the laptop and recognized by the software, the Dandy Vision scanner configuration is complete and ready for clinical use.
