Chairside Crown and Bridge Case Setup

This article covers how to set up basic crown and bridge cases including crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, and onlays. It covers the steps of Patient Selection/Creation, Product Selection, Material Selection, Photo Uploads, Shade Selection, and final add-on options for additional products.

Patient Selection

  1. On your Chairside Home screen click "Start"
  2. Begin typing the patient's first and last name
    • If the patient is already created, click "Select" next to their name in the drop-down menu.
      1. If this is a refabrication, click the relevant case to refabricate and navigate to Place Refabrication Order in Chairside Article
      2. If this is not a refabrication order, click "order something new" at the bottom of the screen, then proceed to Product Selection
    • If the patient has not been created, proceed to step 3
  3. Finish typing the patient's full first and last name
  4. Select the relevant value from the "Gender" drop-down
  5. Enter the patient's date of birth
  6. Click "Create and Continue"

Product Selection

  1. Select "Fixed Restorations"
  2. Choose the relevant restoration type
    • Crown
    • Inlay
    • Onlay
    • Veneer
    • Bridge
  3. Click on the abutment teeth to be restored
    • If restoring a bridge, select the relevant pontic areas and/or Maryland Bridge Wings
  4. If this restoration is to be fitted under an existing Partial Denture – click the "This is a crown/bridge under a partial denture" button at the bottom of the screen

  1. Choose the desired restoration material
    • If multiple restorations are being restored, use the toggle switch on the right side to keep all restorations the same material.
    • If using different materials, unclick the toggle switch and select materials for each tooth individually
      • Note: Layered products are not available for restorations under partials/appliances.
  2. If the practice sets up a case as one SKU and needs to change to another, a new case must be created for a new SKU.
    • Call or chat with customer support for assistance with setting up a new case if scans have already been taken

Photos

For anterior restorations, an option for photos will appear.

If restoring a posterior restoration, proceed to shade selection.

  • If you wish to proceed without photos, click "Skip for now" at the bottom of the screen

If you don't currently have photos:

  1. Using your mobile phone, scan the QR Code
  2. Follow the instructions to add clinical photos directly to the case
    • These photos will not be saved on your device.

Have photos on mobile device

  1. Click the "Prefer to use the old experience?" link
  2. Scan the QR code
  3. Select the relevant photos and click upload

Have photos on Scanning Laptop

  1. Click "Upload from computer" at the bottom of the screen
  2. Select the relevant photos for each title category

Shade Selection

  1. Choose a Base Shade in Vita Classical or Vita 3D Masters
  2. If desired, add Gingival, Incisal, or prep Stump Shades
    • If multiple restorations are being restored, use the toggle switch on the right side to keep all restorations the same shade.
    • If using different shades, unclick the switch and select materials for each tooth individually

Final Stage

The last window gives you a couple more options for complex orders

  1. If no other products are needed – click "Start Scanning"
  2. Click Add Nightguard to receive $50 off a nightguard with the order
  3. Click Add another item to add additional restorations
