What is Fusion Dentures?

Dandy's newest denture family of digitally designed dentures finished with traditional materials. Fusion is offered as Full Dentures where traditional acrylic is used resulting in lifelike gingiva and long-term durability, with the predictable fit of digital design. It also is offered as Flexible Partials pairing digital design with Valplast or Duraflex, first in the world!

How is Fusion different from printed or milled dentures?

  Fusion 3D printed Milled
Fit and precision High High High
Gingival aesthetics Excellent Poor Excellent
Reline and repair Yes No Limited

Fully printed resin dentures are fast, but the gingiva looks uniform and artificial, they cannot be relined, and long-term durability suffers. Milled dentures look good but cost more and offer limited reline and repair options. Fusion is the only option in the portfolio that gives you lifelike gingiva, digital precision, and long-term serviceability together.

What materials are used?

  • Base: Dentsply Sirona Lucitone® resin. More impact resistant, which means fewer remakes from material breakage, with lifelike aesthetics.
  • Teeth: Detax Freeprint Crown resin. Matched translucency and opacity, strong dimensional stability, and no tendency to discolor.

Which products are in the Fusion line?

Product What it is
Full Denture Complete prosthesis for patients with no remaining teeth
Copy Denture A new denture built from the fit and bite of the patient's existing denture
Denture Reline Fusion can be selected as the denture in the reline order flow
Overdentures Fits over retained implants, preserves bone, adds stability
Immediate Dentures Full denture delivered at the extraction appointment
Flexi Partial Flexible, gum-colored material with no visible metal clasps

What add-ons are supported?

Stippling and Metal Mesh. Cu Sil gaskets, metal framework, and soft liners are not supported on Fusion cases. In Chairside you will see pop-up messaging if you select conflicting add-ons.

Choosing a workflow

Four workflows cover nearly every patient situation.

Patient situation Workflow Appointments
Needs a new denture, no existing denture to reference Complete Denture (Wax Rim) 3–4
Has an existing denture that works as a reference Copy Denture 2
Still has teeth that are being extracted Immediate Denture Delivered at extraction
Existing denture is loose, but the design is fine Digital Reline 1 scan visit

Can Fusion Dentures be relined or repaired?

Yes! Fusion is traditional acrylic, so it is serviceable for the long haul. Relines run through the Digital Reline workflow as hard relines. Fully printed resin dentures cannot be relined. For more information on relines, please refer to  Digital Relines For Dentures.
