Manage Chairside Sleep Apnea Device Scanning Processes

Overview: This guide explains how to capture, review, and share intraoral scans for sleep apnea devices within the Chairside software.

Capture Arch Scans

To ensure the system processes data correctly, perform the scans in the following specific sequence:

  1.

Lower Arch: Scan following an occlusal, buccal, and lingual path, then select Next.

  2.

Upper Arch: Scan following an occlusal, buccal, and lingual path, then select Next.

  3. Protrusive Bite: Capture the protrusive bite scan. If you require assistance with this specific step, refer to the How To Capture A Protrusive Bite Scan guide.

  4.

Bite Alignment: Manually align the bite scans if the software does not auto-align the arches.

Utilize Scanning Tools

The following tools are located at the bottom of the scanning pages to help refine the digital impression:

  •

Reset: Use the Reset button to delete the entire current scan.

  •

Trim: Use the Trim tool to remove only a specific selected area of the scan.

  •

Lock: Use the Lock feature to fix a selected area in place to prevent further modification.

  •

Center: Select Center to align the digital model to a standard occlusal view.

  •

Stone: Select Stone to convert the colored scan into a monochromatic stone appearance for better surface detail inspection.

  •

Swap: Use the Swap tool to trade the current scan data with a different selected arch scan.

Review Scan Quality

Use these viewing options to verify the accuracy of the captured data before finalizing the order:

  •

Single View: Display both upper and lower arches in occlusion.

  •

Side by Side: Display the upper and lower arches individually and simultaneously.

  •

Complete: View a combination of both Single and Side by Side viewing modes.

  •

Compare: Compare the current digital scans against a previous set of completed scans for the same patient.

  •

HD Scans: View the digital impressions in High Definition to check for fine details.

  •

Annotate Scans: Use the annotation tools to draw, circle, or add text notes directly onto the digital model.

Finalize and Share Scans

Choose the appropriate action to complete the scanning workflow:

  •

Start Ordering: Select this option to proceed with placing the device order.

  • Rescan: If a scan appears low-quality, select A Scan Looks Bad? Re-scan It and click the Pencil Icon to retake that specific arch.

  •

Share Scans With Patient: Send the digital results to the patient via a secure link, printed document, or QR code.
