Create a Nightguard or Sports Guard Case in Chairside

Overview: This article provides step-by-step instructions for entering patient data and selecting nightguard or sports guard products within the Chairside application. Use these steps to ensure the patient case is correctly configured before starting a scan.

Enter Patient Information in Chairside

Follow these steps to identify an existing patient or add a new patient to the Chairside system:

  1. Click Start on the Chairside home screen.

  2. Type the patient’s first and last name into the search field.

  3. For existing patients: Select the patient name from the results and click Order Something New.

  4. For new patients: Complete the first and last name entry, select the patient gender, and enter the patient's birth date.

  5. Click Create and Continue to move to product selection.

Select Nightguard or Sports Guard Products

Once the patient is selected, choose the specific appliance required for the case:

  1. Click the Splints, Guards, & TMJ category icon.

  2. Select either Nightguard or Sports Guard based on the patient's clinical needs.

  3. Choose the desired arch or arches (Upper, Lower, or Both).

  4. Click Next to proceed to the final stage.

Finalize the Case Setup

Review the order items before initiating the scanning process:

  • To begin scanning: Click Start Scanning if no additional products are required for this patient.

  • To add more items: Click Add Another Item to include additional appliances in the same order.

  • To correct errors: Click Edit Night Guard/Sports Guard to modify the arch selection or product type.
