Manage Full Denture Orders Using the Mail-In Option

Overview: Learn how to submit physical impressions for Full Denture orders using Dandy's pre-paid mail-in service.

Create the Full Denture Order

Before mailing any materials, you must first create a live order in the Dandy Chairside software.

  1. Open the Chairside software and select New Order.

  2. Select Denture (Note: Currently available for the wax rim workflow only).

  3. Enter the patient information and the desired design specifications.

  4. Choose the Mail Physical Impression option within the workflow.

  5. Select any desired add-ons and proceed to Checkout.

Package the Impression for Shipping

Dandy provides all necessary shipping materials and covers the cost of transit.

  1. Disinfect the impression: Sanitize the impression according to industry standards before packaging.

  2. Seal the impression: Place the disinfected impression inside a labeled plastic bag and seal it.

  3. Prepare the box: Place the sealed bag on top of the bottom foam insert in the Dandy-provided box.

  4. Secure the contents: Place the top foam insert and the additional security foam piece over the bag.

  5. Seal the box: Close the box and use adhesive tape to ensure it is secure for transit.

Generate and Attach the Shipping Label

You can access your pre-paid UPS Ground shipping label in two ways:

  • During Checkout: Print the return label immediately after completing the order in Chairside.

  • Via the Dandy Portal: If you miss the initial prompt, navigate to the specific order in the Portal to print the label and review shipping instructions.

Accepted Impression Materials

Dandy accepts a variety of materials for physical mail-ins:

  • Accepted: Polysulfide, Polyether, Polyvinyl Siloxane (PVS), and Zinc Oxide Eugenol (ZOE).

  • Conditional: Alginate is accepted only if it has been poured into a model form and cured.

  • Important Note: Do not send custom trays or any items you expect to have returned; Dandy does not return physical trays.

    1. Dandy will accept trays that you already use in your denture workflows.
    2. Custom trays will not be provided during the pilot

    1. Dandy accepts a range of different impression materials, including alginate (if poured into model form and cured), polysulfide, polyether, or polyvinyl siloxane (PVS), oxide eugenol (ZOE),

    1. Dandy will provide participants with pre-paid shipping labels (sent individually in empty pre-packaged boxes) for UPS pickup/delivery.
  10. Does Dandy provide shipping materials?
    1. Yes. We provide: Pre-paid UPS shipping labels & Protective shipping boxes with foam inserts.
  11. What shipping services does Dandy offer?
    1. Standard Ground with UPS at no cost to customers.
  12. Are there any sanitation steps required before sending physical impressions to Dandy?
    1. Yes. Dandy requests that impressions be sanitized before packaging/shipping per industry standards.
  13. How should the impressions be packaged for shipping?
    1. Please refer to the shipping instructions provided within the ordering portal.
  14. How long does it take for Dandy to receive my physical impressions once picked up from the carrier?
    1. UPS Ground or 2D Air (2-day shipping)
  15. Is there a processing fee for scanning my impressions for me?
    1. Presently, this service is free, but Dandy reserves the right to charge for it in the future.
  16. Are there any additional requirements for customers to leverage this mail-in workflow?
    1. Impression mail-in must first submit an order via the Dandy Chairside using the new impression mail-in workflow, which will create a live order.
  17. When should I send a physical impression?

    You should only send a physical impression if you have already submitted an order via Dandy Chairside by scanning that impression using the new Impression Scanning workflow.

  18. Does mailing an impression create an order?
    1. No. First, the order needs to be created utilizing Dandy's Chairside software.
