Follow these steps to complete a denture workflow within the system:

Case Initialisation

  • Start a New Case: Open the software and initiate a new patient record.

  • Patient Details: Add the patient’s name and click OK.

  • Add Memo: Click the Add Memo button in the top right-hand corner. Type ‘full denture’ into the text box and click Save.

Scan Configuration

  • Begin Scanning: Click New Scan.

  • Soft Tissue Filter: In the bottom left-hand corner, ensure the Soft Tissue filter has the left option selected (the icon showing a tooth with the most tissue). This setting ensures all soft tissue is accurately captured.

  • Pre-op Scans: At the top centre of the page, select the Edit (pencil) button. Add pre-op scans for any edentulous arches you will be scanning.

    • Example: If the patient has no reference denture for their edentulous lower arch, add a lower arch pre-op scan to the flow.

    • Note: If the patient has reference dentures, there is no need to add a pre-op scan.

Scanning Flow & Tips

Follow the standard scanning sequence (lower, upper, then bite).

Clinical Tips for Success:

  • Bite Scans: Reinsert the patient’s denture(s) and scan intraorally to capture the bite.

  • Dually Edentulous: If the patient is edentulous in both arches, a bite scan is not required.

  • Anatomical Landmarks: Ensure the scans include the retromolar pads, the palate, and the tuberosities.

  • Extraoral Scanning: For reference dentures or wax rims, perform a 360-degree scan extraorally.

Finalisation and Submission

  • Finalise Scan: Once scanning is complete, click Finish at the top centre of the screen.

  • Send Order: Click Send.

  • Lab Prescription: The Dandy lab slip will appear on your screen. Complete the prescription details as required.

  • Submit: Click Send once the form is finished.
