Dandy Equipment Setup Guide

Overview: Learn how to assemble your equipment cart, configure the laptop, and connect your Dandy Trios scanner to prepare for training.

Prerequisites

• Assembly Assistance: Dandy recommends two people for assembling the equipment cart.

• Power Access: Ensure a power point is available for the laptop and wall-powered scanner variants.

• Time Requirement: Complete these steps at least 72 hours before your scheduled Launch Training.
   

Assemble the Equipment Cart

Configure the Laptop

Set up the laptop to prepare for the Chairside software installation:

1. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into a power point and the laptop.

2. Power On: Turn on the laptop and connect the Dell laptop to a stable Wi-Fi network.

3. Log in: When the log in screen appears, click enter. No password is required for login.

4. Connect Wi-Fi: Connect your Dandy Laptop to your Wi-Fi network.

5. Maintain Charge: The Dandy Laptop should remain plugged in and "Charging" at all times during scanning.

   • Failure to do so can lead to slow equipment and low scan quality.

Identify Your Scanning Device

Look for the following identifiers to determine your scanner model.

• If there are 2 buttons on the scanner - Proceed to Dandy Vision Setup
• If there is a Blue Strip on the base of the scanner - Proceed to Dandy Wired USB-C Setup
• If there is a Green Stripe on the base of the scanner - Proceed to Dandy Wired Ethernet Setup
• If the Scanner says "Trios" and is wireless - Proceed to Dandy Wireless Setup

Dandy Wired USB-C Setup

Follow these steps if your Dandy Trios scanner uses a USB-C cable for power:

1. Position the Base: Place the scanner base on the cart.

2. Connect to Laptop: Plug the USB-C cable from the scanner directly into the Dell laptop

3. Connect the Wand: Insert the scanner wand into the base, aligning the red dots on the cable and base.

Dandy Wired Ethernet Setup

Follow these steps if your Dandy Trios scanner includes a standard power plug:

1. Position the Base: Place the scanner base on the cart.

2. Connect the Wand: Insert the scanner wand into the base, aligning the red dots on the cable and base.

3. Establish Power: Plug the power cable into a power point and the scanner base. Confirm the green light on the base is illuminated.

4. Connect to Laptop: Plug the Ethernet cable directly from the scanner base into the Dell laptop.

Dandy Wireless Setup

Assemble Scanner Hardware

Follow these steps to prepare the scanner hardware for use:

1. Connect Battery Power: Plug the battery charger power cable into the battery charger and a standard power point.

2. Prepare Batteries: Remove the protective tape from the metal contacts on each battery.

3. Charge Batteries: Place two batteries into the battery charger. A battery is fully charged when all five LED lights on the battery surface are illuminated.

4. Position Equipment: Place the scanner pod on a stable workspace and rest the scanner wand inside the pod.

5. Install Wireless Adapter: Plug the TP-Link wireless adapter into a USB port on the laptop. If necessary, use the included USB hub.

6. Restart System: Restart the laptop once the TP-Link adapter and the small green USB dongle are both connected.

Connect Scanner to Chairside Software

Once the hardware is assembled, link the scanner to the software:
