Chairside Mail-in Physical Impressions Workflow

This article outlines how to mail in physical impressions and what SKUs qualify for this option.

SKUs that are available for mail-in impressions

  • Crown cases that meet the following criteria:
    • Single unit
    • Zirconia monolithic
    • Non-polychromatic
  • New denture cases with no existing denture
  • Overdenture cases with no existing denture

Operational Notes

  • Turnaround Time: Switching to a physical impression adds 3–4 business days to total processing time due to transit and intake.

  • Shipping Materials: Dandy provides prepaid shipping labels. Practices must supply their own shipping boxes.

How to select mail-in impression in Chairside

Select impressions during order setup:

  1. Select the applicable SKU.

  2. Set up the case as normal.

  3. During setup, select whether you would like to scan intraorally or mail in an impression.

  4. Once all selections are complete, review the instructions for packaging impressions.

  5. Complete the Rx form.

  6. Submit the order.

  7. Open and view the submitted order.

  8. Click the green Print Shipping Label button.

  9. Attach the printed label to the box.

  10. Send the package using the designated shipping carrier on the label.

Switch to impression mode after starting a scan

  1. If the case is eligible for mail-in impressions, click Switch Capture Method in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

  2. Select Mail-in Impression.

  3. Review the packaging instructions for impressions.

  4. Complete the Rx form.

  5. Submit the order.

  6. Open and view the submitted order.

  7. Click the green Print Shipping Label button.

  8. Attach the printed label to the box.

  9. Send the package using the carrier specified on the label.
