Prerequisites
Old and new Dandy laptops
Practice Wi-Fi connection
USB thumb drive provided by Dandy
3Shape dongle and wireless mouse with its corresponding dongle
Prepare Hardware for Scan Transfer
Verify Power and Connectivity
Power on the old Dandy laptop and the new Dandy laptop simultaneously.
Ensure both Dandy laptops connect to the practice Wi-Fi network.
Locate the included USB thumb drive for use during the file transfer process.
Coordinate Scan Transfer with Support
Contact Dandy Customer Support
Call or chat with Dandy Customer Support at 1-866-310-8665 to initiate the data transfer.
Wait for the support team to confirm the transfer of patient scans is successful before taking any new scans.
Follow Laptop Setup Safety Guidelines
Prohibited Actions and System Settings
Do not perform new patient scans on the new Dandy laptop until the support team completes the data transfer.
Do not sign into personal Microsoft accounts or modify Windows profiles on the Dandy laptop.
Do not modify any system settings on the Dandy laptop as these are managed devices.
Press the Enter key and leave the password field blank if the system prompts for a password.
Manage Accessories and Hardware Returns
Connect Essential Accessories
Connect the 3Shape dongle to an available port on the new Dandy laptop.
Connect the wireless mouse and the wireless mouse dongle to the new Dandy laptop.
Return the Original Dandy Laptop
Pack the original Dandy laptop securely once all scans transfer successfully.
Attach the provided prepaid return label to the exterior of the shipping package.
Drop the package at a UPS location or schedule a pickup for the original Dandy laptop.
