What is it?
Simply put, Dandy’s Instant Smile Simulator is designed to preview your patient’s new smile in under 60 seconds, so they can visualize the improvement and become more excited to start treatment.
Navigating to Instant Smile Simulator:
There are two ways to access the Instant Smile Simulator tool within your Dandy software.
The first is through your Chairside home screen. Underneath “Start a Case”, select Instant Smile Simulator to get started.
The second is by selecting “Start a Case” and choosing Instant Smile Simulator from the product menu screen.
Simulating your patient's smile
Uploading your picture
Use the QR code to capture and instantly upload a picture of your patient’s smile. Alternatively, you can upload an image.
Running the simulation
Next, select the simulation type you wish to proceed with. Your two options are:
- Orthodontic: Tooth repositioning only. Excludes restorative work.
- Restorative: Included changes to shape, anatomy, size, surface for veneers, crowns, or full mouth rehabilitations.
Select ‘Simulate’. The simulation takes less than 60 seconds to appear.
Slider before and after comparison
Choose ‘Compare’ to enable a before-and-after slider that helps you see the simulation in a powerful view.
Sharing with your patient
Choose ‘Share with your patient’ and enter your patient’s contact details. This lets you to send the before and after images to their personal devices.
Finding previous simulations
To find previous smile simulations, navigate to your home screen in Chairside or the Dandy Portal. Choose ‘Patients’. Navigate to your patient and you can find the smile simulations on their profile.

The Instant Smile Simulator is for illustrative purposes only. This tool will help patients understand the treatment being recommended but does not guarantee final outcomes. Clinicians must use their expert judgement and council patients on exact treatment steps and limitations.
