Overview: Use the Smile Simulator to generate and share dental visualizations for patients within the Chairside platform to help them visualize potential orthodontic or restorative outcomes.
Selecting a Patient
Follow these steps to select or create a patient profile in the Chairside software:
Select Start on the Chairside homescreen.
Enter the first and last name of the patient.
Choose the patient's name from the list for existing patients and select Order Something New.
Finish entering the name for new patients, select the gender, and enter the patient's birthday.
Select Create and Continue to proceed to product selection.
Selecting the Smile Simulation Product
Select Smile Simulation from the product list to open the simulator workflow.
Running the Simulation
Use these instructions to upload photos and generate the simulation:
Uploading Patient Photos
Scan the provided QR code using a mobile device camera to follow mobile instructions.
Alternatively, select Upload From Computer or From Your Laptop to use local files.
Select the relevant photos that correspond to each title category displayed in the software.
Selecting the Simulation Type
Choose the simulation type that matches the patient's needs:
Orthodontic: This type shows tooth repositioning only and excludes restorative work.
Restorative: This type includes changes to the shape, anatomy, size, or surface for veneers, crowns, or full mouth rehabilitations.
Select Simulate to process the images and generate the preview.
Slider before and after comparison
Choose ‘Compare’ to enable a before-and-after slider that helps you see the simulation in a powerful view.
Reviewing and Sharing the Simulation
Review the simulation results and share the data with the patient.
Select Compare to toggle the view between the original patient photo and the modified simulation image.
Select Start Over if the simulation requires adjustments; this action returns the software to the beginning of the workflow.
Select Share Scans With Patient to begin the sharing process.
Confirm the practice information if this is the first time the practice is sharing scans.
Enter a short message or additional context for the patient in the text field.
Choose to send the simulation via a direct link or a QR code.
Select Share to complete the process.
