Dandy Cart – Assembly & Power-On Troubleshooting Guide

This guide assumes the cart was assembled following the official assembly instructions that came with your cart. Please also check out the assembly video. But something feels off, doesn’t work, or won’t power on. Please check this guide.

Removing panels to access the computer

If anything needs to be checked at the computer (cables) please see the visuals below on removing those panels

Accessing the middle connection of cables

If anything needs to be checked in the middle of the cart (cable connections) please see below steps on accessing these.

The monitor doesn’t turn on

Likely causes: Monitor power button not pressed; monitor cables not fully connected; monitor mounting screws overtightened, causing misalignment.

Where this usually happens: Step 20–27: Monitor installation; Step 32: Final power-on.

What to check: Confirm the computer is powering on (the button should be white); if it is not, skip to the troubleshooting section. Monitor power button (final step), all four mounting screws are tight but not over-torqued, and monitor cables (A, C, E) are connected to the correct ports. Cable C connects the monitor to the power supply/battery. Cables A and E connect the monitor to the computer. If the monitor says no signal, skip to the next section; it's just not receiving a signal from the computer.

Check cable C is fully connected to the monitor and in the middle of the cart. Unplug and replug at these two locations to fix the power issue going to the computer.

Fix: Press the monitor power button again, check the cable C connection at the monitor, and check the cable C connection in the middle of the cart.

Monitor says no signal

Likely causes: Computer power button not pressed; computer cables not fully connected; right-angle connection to the computer is loose.

Where this usually happens: Cable connection steps or power-on steps

What to check: Have you clicked the computer button on? If the computer is not turning on (button is white) skip to the section to troubleshoot the computer not turning on.

If the computer is on, then please check the following:

Cables A and E - both of these connect to the monitor, connect in the middle of the cart, and then connect to the computer.

First unplug A and E at the monitor, then unplug and replug in the middle of the cart, lastly we would check the connections to the computer for A/E. Please reference the instructions for removing the panels around the computer shown at the top of this document.

Fix: Press the computer power button again, check that the battery is powered on, remove panels around the computer, and check the bottom power cable connected via a right-angle adaptor.

The computer doesn’t turn on

Likely causes: Computer power button not pressed; computer cables not fully connected; right-angle connection to the computer is loose.

Where this usually happens: Step 30-32: Final power-on.

What to check: Have you clicked the computer button on, and is the button not turning white (see the first photo showing how to click the computer)? Next verify the battery is on, if it is not proceed to the next section to trouble shoot the battery turning on. If the battery is on (step 30), we can focus on the power connection to the computer. The computer is receiving power from the battery via a right-angle cable connected at the bottom back of the computer. The right-angle piece attached to the cable is likely not fully connected to either the computer or the cable itself.

We need to first remove the computer from the bracket using the Allen wrench provided in your assembly kit. There are 4 screws, and this might take some force to unscrew. Please proceed with removing the computer from the bracket, then unplug and replug all cables into the computer. Then the computer needs to be reattached to the bracket.

Fix: Press the computer power button again, check that the battery is powered on, remove panels around the computer, and check the bottom power cable connected via a right-angle adaptor.

The battery won’t power on at all

Likely causes: Battery not activated; power cable not connected to battery; wall outlet not supplying power.

Where this usually happens: Step 28–31: Power-on assembly.

What to check: Battery flap lifted, and power cable plugged into battery, power cable plugged into wall outlet, battery button pressed (near power outlet), and computer power button pressed (back of computer).

Fix (in order): Confirm the wall outlet works, confirm the battery cable connection, press the battery button, press the computer power button, then press the monitor power button. Power-on is sequential — skipping a step can look like a failure.

Cables won’t fit or the cable cover won’t close

Likely causes: Incorrect cable order; excess cable slack near ports.

Where this usually happens: Step 25–27: Cable management.

What to check: Cables A, C, and E are routed as shown, and no cable crosses directly over another at the port.

Fix: Remove the cable cover, reroute cables with gentle bends, and replace the cover only after cables sit flush.

The back panel won’t snap into place

Likely causes: Internal cables not pushed fully into the neck; cables crossing or bulging behind the panel.

Where this usually happens: Step 10: Installing the back panel.

What to check: Look down into the neck — cables should be routed straight down, not looped or crossed. No cable should protrude from the back panel plane.

Fix: Remove the back panel, push cables deeper into the neck channel, then reinstall the panel and press firmly until it seats flush.

Scanner feels loose or unstable

Likely causes: Scanner holster not fully tightened; scanner not fully seated in holster.

Where this usually happens: Step 11–15: Scanner holster and scanner installation.

What to check: Holster mounting screws are fully tight, the scanner clicks, or seats firmly in the holster, and the USB-C cable is not pulling the scanner downward.

Fix: Retighten holster mounting screw (Screw D), reseat the scanner, and re-route the USB-C cable so there’s slack near the scanner.

Scanner not recognized / not powering on

Likely causes: “B” connections in the middle of the cart or computer. Scanner cable not fully plugged in at the front of the cart under the holster.

Where this usually happens: Step 13–15: Scanner cabling; Step 26: Monitor/computer cable connections.

What to check: USB-C is plugged into the underside of the scanner holster at the front of the cart. If this is secure, please check the cable “B” connection in the middle of the cart and at the computer. Please reference the top two sections, “Accessing the middle connections of cables” and “Removing panels to access the computer”. First, check the middle connection, unplug and replug “B”. Then, check the “B” connection at the computer.

Fix: Unplug and firmly reseat all “B” connections. Check the scanner's connection at the front of the cart.
