Overview: Learn how to add credit or debit cards to your account and understand the associated processing fees for different card types.
Add a Card to the Dandy Portal
Follow these steps to add a new credit or debit card for practice payments:
Access the Dandy Portal: Log in to your Dandy Portal account.
Navigate to Practice Settings: Click the Account Settings icon and select Practice Settings.
Find Other Payment Methods: Scroll to the bottom of the Practice Settings page and select the + Other methods option.
Enter Card Information: In the pop-up window, enter the card number, expiration date, and CVV. You may use Stripe's Link feature to associate the card details with your email address for faster future payments.
Confirm and Save: Verify the card details and click Add Credit Card.
Note: If multiple payment methods are on file, go to the Payment methods section of Practice settings to set a preferred primary method for transactions.
Understanding Card Processing Fees
Fees vary depending on whether you use a credit or debit card.
Credit Card Fees
Credit card payments incur a 2.9% processing fee. This fee appears as a separate line item on each monthly invoice within the Dandy Portal.
Debit Card Fees
There is no processing fee for payments made via debit card or ACH.
Financial Data Security
Dandy does not store sensitive details like bank account information or full card numbers. All financial data is transmitted to Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe maintains a PCI Service Provider Level 1 certification, which is the highest security standard in the payments industry.
