Scanning Multiple Implant Sites with a Single Scan Body Using the Lock Feature

Overview: Clinicians can use the software "Lock" feature to capture data for multiple implant sites using only one scan body. This workflow allows the software to retain previously scanned components while the physical scan body is moved to a new position.

Prerequisites

  • Verify the scan body is compatible with all implant sites.

  • Ensure the scanning environment is dry to optimize image capture.

  • Order additional scan bodies if existing components are not compatible.

Scanning Multiple Implant Sites

Capture the Emergence Profile

The clinician must capture a thorough emergence profile, including the exposed tissue around each implant site down to the collar of the implant. The clinician must also capture adjacent contact surfaces. Data capture down the channel of the implant is not necessary.

Scan the First Scan Body

  1. Seat the scan body in the most posterior position of the sites requiring scanning.

  2. Use an X-ray to confirm the scan body is properly seated.

  3. Fully capture the scan body on the Scan Body workflow step.

Utilize the Lock Tool

  1. Enable the Lock tool from the toolbar located at the bottom of the page.

  2. Left-click to paint and cover the entire scan body in the software.

  3. Avoid painting beyond the scan body component; stay clear of the tissue around adjacent implant sites.

Capture Subsequent Implant Sites

  1. Remove the scan body and reseat the scan body in the next most posterior position.

  2. Use an X-ray to confirm part seating.

  3. Fully capture the second scan body in the software.

  4. Apply the Lock tool to the newly captured scan body.

  5. Repeat this process until all implant sites are captured.
