This guide outlines the step-by-step process to submit Implant Bridge cases to Dandy using Unite software. From initial case creation to final submission, we've got you covered. Follow these instructions to ensure a smooth submission process.
Step 1 - Setup Patient and Lab Details
- Initiate Case Setup: Create a new patient profile or add a case under an existing patient.
- Select Dandy Labs: Choose 'Dandy Labs' under 'Scan & Send' to ensure your case is correctly routed to Dandy. If 'Dandy Labs' isn't an option, please contact our Support Team.
Step 2 - Select Clinical Case Details
- Case Type: Select "Bridge" and "Implant Abutment." Choose the teeth being replaced with the implant. Select "Pontic" and choose the tooth or teeth that will be replaced by a pontic.
-
Connection Selection: Navigate to "Implant connection" and select the implant's manufacturer, system, and connection for all implants included in the case
- Note: We strongly advise attaching a surgical report at the end of the lab slip to confirm implant parts.
- Material Selection: Navigate to "Material: implant abutment" and pick your preferred material from the dropdown menu for each abutment. Select "Material: bridge" to choose your preferred bridge material from the drowndown menu.
- Shade Selection: Use "Shade" to select the desired shade, guided by your Vita classic shade guide.
-
Saving and Setting a Delivery Date: Click "Save" and input a delivery date.
- Note: While required in Unite, the 'Delivery Date' you select doesn't determine the actual delivery date of your restoration. Upon completing the case's lab slip, you'll see an estimated delivery time.
- Emergence Profile Scan Selection: An emergence profile scan should be automatically selected and is necessary to submit and complete an implant case with Dandy. Ensure that the "Emergence profile" box is checked in the case overview box on the right side of the screen.
-
- Note: This will add the emergence profile scan before the scan body scan to the scanning workflow and appear on the scan page as follows.
Step 3 - Complete Emergence Profile Scan
Emergence profile scans should be completed after the healing abutment has been removed.
- Lower Mandibular Arch Scan: Begin with the lower arch, following the path of occlusal surfaces to linguals, and conclude with buccal. Remember to divide your buccal scans at the midline for precision.
- Mark the Tooth: If the planned restoration is on the mandibular arch, after scanning, mark the teeth receiving treatment by clicking on its occlusal surface, then click "Done."
-
Upper Maxillary Arch Scan: Flip your mirror tip for the upper arch scan. The scanning sequence remains the same: occlusals, linguals, and buccals.
- Note: If the planned restoration is on the maxillary arch, you will mark the teeth during this step.
Step 4 - Complete Scan Body and Bite Scan
Before moving on to inserting and scanning the scan bodies, please review our Implant best practice article on Implant Scanning Best Practices.
-
Insert Scan Bodies: After removing the patient's healing abutment, insert and ensure the scan bodies are fully seated.
- Note: Need to order a scan body? Check out our article, How to Order a Scan Body, to learn how to order one through your Dandy Portal.
- Scan the Scan Body: Start scanning on an adjacent tooth to ensure the software correctly identifies the scan body. Ensure the scan bodies are fully captured and that there are complete interproximal scans.
- Bite Scans: Conduct left and right bite scans, ensuring the patient is in their natural occlusion. Listen for the chime indicating a successful scan.
Note: If you are having difficulty fully seating your scan bodies, check out our article, Correcting an Improperly Seated Scan Body, for support.
Step 5 - Submit Your Case
- Analysis and Post-Processing: Utilize the analysis page to review your scans. Select "Post process" and "Send" for case submission.
-
Complete the Dandy Lab Slip: Fill out the Dandy Lab slip with all required information, material choices, and shades. Include additional instructions or attachments as needed.
- Note: Completing the Dandy lab slip entirely is essential for the case to move forward into planning and fabrication.
-
Placing Your Order: Please continue to select the green buttons at the bottom of the screen to confirm all details and select 'Place Order.'
- Note: If you return to the Unite screen before clicking 'Place Order' your order will not be submitted to Dandy and will have a status of 'Pending' in your Dandy Portal.
