Delayed Response with the Scanner Button in Chairside

Experiencing a delayed response with the Trio 3 scanner button during your Chairside operations can interrupt your workflow. Follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot and address this issue promptly.

Step 1 - Press the Scanner Button Once

To activate or deactivate the scanner, press the scanner button once. Rapidly pressing the button multiple times can cause response delays.

Step 2 - Check the Image Count

Chairside displays the scan's image count in the top-right corner of the scan page. Keeping within recommended limits can prevent delays:

  • Aim for an ideal image count of 2500 for most arch or bite scans.
  • 360-degree scans, such as those for denture cases, will naturally have higher counts.
  • Try to avoid exceeding 7000 images for an arch scan, as it may lead to increased delay in button responsiveness.

Step 3 - Use the On Screen Scanner Controls

Chairside currently has a known issue where the scanner button may not respond immediately, in these cases you can use the on screen controls as well as the keyboard hotkey to activate and deactivate your scanner.

  • The 'Play' button in the left hand column of any arch or bite scan page can be used to turn the scanner on and off.
  • You can also use your keyboard to turn the scanner on and off by opressing CTRL and S at the same time
