Overview: This article provides step-by-step instructions for ordering retainers for patients who have finished Dandy Aligner treatment. It covers material specifications, patient selection, and scanning sequences.
Prerequisites
The patient must have completed their Dandy Aligner treatment plan..
If a patient has NOT completed Dandy Aligner treatment, use the standard Retainer Workflow instead.
Retainer Material Specifications
Retainers included with Dandy Aligner cases use Zendura A material with a standard 1mm thickness. This material and thickness cannot be substituted or altered under the Dandy Aligner plan. If a different appliance or material is required, please use the standard Retainer Workflow.
Step 1: Select the Patient Case
Search for the existing patient case in the Dandy Portal using the patient name or Order ID.
Select the active case associated with the patient's orthodontic order.
Navigate to the Order Retainers section located above the orthodontic treatment plan viewer.
Step 2: Choose Scan Options
Click the Order Retainers button.
Select the patient's name.
Select which arch you would prefer to order.
Step 3: Capture Patient Scans
Perform the scan in the following sequence: Lower Arch > Upper Arch > Bite.
Ensure the scan completely captures the distal surfaces of the posterior teeth.
Submit the order through the portal.
