Overview: Select the appropriate partial denture workflow to optimize clinical efficiency and patient comfort during intraoral scanning appointments.
Straight to Finish Workflow
The Straight to Finish workflow completes the partial denture process in two patient appointments without a try-in phase. Practitioners should use the Straight to Finish workflow for cases where the patient's occlusion is stable and easily distinguishable. Intraoral scanning accuracy reduces the need for extensive chairside adjustments during the seating appointment.
Appointment 1: Scan and Order
Complete the intraoral scan of the patient.
Fill out case preferences in the digital order form.
Appointment 2: Seat
Seat the final partial denture in the patient's mouth.
Three Appointment Try-in Workflow
The Try-in workflow is recommended for complex cases or when a wax rim/framework try-in is preferred by the practitioner. This workflow requires three patient appointments to ensure proper function and aesthetics.
Recommended Use for Wax Rims Practitioners should utilize wax rims when the patient has few remaining teeth. Wax rims help ensure the partial denture is set correctly for both function and aesthetics. Note that Dandy does not offer digital wax-ups for partials because they are handmade.
Recommended Use for Frameworks The framework try-in is specifically recommended for cases involving anterior teeth to verify fit and appearance before finalization.
Try-in Workflow Steps
Scan and Order: Perform the initial intraoral scan and submit case preferences.
Try-in: Evaluate the wax rim or framework, make necessary adjustments, and return the case to Dandy with noted changes.
Seat: Seat the final partial denture.
Crown Under Partial Workflow
Dandy offers a seamless end-to-end workflow within the Chairside software for crown under partial cases. This specific workflow allows the patient to keep their existing partial denture throughout the entire restoration process.
