Overview: This guide provides step-by-step instructions for managing an inlay workflow in the Chairside platform to ensure accurate fixed restoration scanning and ordering.
Configure Inlay Case Setup
Open the Chairside case setup menu and select the Fixed Restorations option.
Select Inlay from the available fixed restoration options.
Choose the specific tooth on the digital chart that will receive the inlay restoration.
Select the desired material and shade for the inlay from the subsequent configuration menus.
Note: If the case involves a fixed restoration combined with a partial denture, follow the specialized instructions in the Chairside Combo Case Workflow: Fixed Restoration + Partial article.
Execute Inlay Scanning Sequence
Follow the scanning sequence in this specific order to capture all necessary clinical data:
Lower Arch
Upper Arch
Bite
Prep Scan
Review Scan
Submit Order
Skip Pre-prep Scanning
You can bypass the pre-prep scan of the tooth by selecting the Skip pre-prep button. The Skip pre-prep button must be selected on the menu preceding the scan of the specific preparation arch. For example, if the inlay is located on the lower arch, you must select the Skip pre-prep button before scanning the lower arch.
Finalize and Submit Inlay Order
Mark the specific tooth being prepared when prompted by the Chairside software.
Navigate to the Review Scans menu to confirm the occlusal reduction is sufficient for the inlay.
Select the option to place the order to transmit the inlay case data.
