Overview: Learn how to connect, pair, and troubleshoot the Dandy Wireless scanner using Dandy Chairside software.
System Preparation and Adapter Connection
Locate the TP-Link wireless adapter included with the scanner equipment.
Insert the TP-Link wireless adapter directly into an available USB port on the Dandy laptop. Do not use USB hubs, docking stations, or USB extension adapters.
Position the TP-Link wireless adapter outward to form an “L” shape. Do not fold the TP-Link wireless adapter inward during scanner use.
Close all software applications on the laptop except for the Dandy Chairside software. Ensure all 3Shape software applications, including 3Shape Unite, are fully closed.
Scanner Pairing and Connection Steps
Launch the Dandy Chairside software on the Dandy laptop.
Within the Dandy Chairside software, locate the scanner connection status and select Using a TRIOS 5? Connect.
Remove the battery from the Dandy Wireless scanner to expose the serial number.
Locate the scanner serial number inside the battery compartment labeled S/N.
Enter the scanner serial number exactly as displayed, beginning with the characters 1JD, into the Dandy Chairside software text field.
Input the name "Trios 5" in the scanner name field, then select Continue.
Insert a fully charged battery firmly into the base of the Dandy Wireless scanner. Allow several moments for the scanner to initialize.
Verify that a Scanner ready! confirmation message appears in the Dandy Chairside software.
Confirm that the battery icon displays in green with a valid charge percentage. If the battery percentage displays as 0%, restart the
