Sterilizing Dandy Products Before First Use - Best Practice

  • Dandy restorations and products are non-sterile when delivered. Before placing the restoration/restorations in the patient’s mouth, the product should be cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized.
    • Why are my products sent non-sterile
      • Dental restorations (such as crowns and bridges) are generally considered non-sterile because they are placed into an environment—the mouth—that is naturally teeming with bacteria. While dental instruments are sterilized to prevent cross-contamination, the restorations themselves do not need to be sterile because they are immediately recontaminated upon insertion.
