Product Description
Lucitone HIPA delivers both speed and strength. It produces a highly impact-resistant restoration that can be processed faster than traditional poured acrylic. Lucitone HIPA acrylic's high impact-resistance gives it improved durability, which reduces the potential for fracture. This self-cure denture base is designed for use in the fabrication, repair, rebasing, or relining of dentures. It has excellent color stability and an extremely accurate fit.
Advantages
- High impact pour acrylic for improved durability
- Resists breakage
- Balanced translucency and excellent vein simulation
- Aesthetically pleasing
Indications
- Replacement of a complete arch of missing teeth
- Dental implants that have been deemed unsuitable by the patient and/or doctor because of cost constraints
- A medically compromised status that contraindicates surgery or inevitable damage to vital structures such as maxillary sinuses, nerves, and vessels
- Intraoral cancer that has caused a loss of gross intraoral tissue, resulting in an edentulous dental arch; the complete denture prosthesis would then not only replace teeth but also fill in the portion of missing tissue (e.g., nasopharynx, hard palate)
Contraindications
- Patients with a history of allergic reactions to methylmethacrylate monomer
- Patients with SEVERE gag reflex
- Patients with severely resorbed dental alveolar ridges, thus comprising retention with a complete denture alone
Care Instructions
- Dropping the denture may cause the teeth or acrylic base to fracture.
- If cleaning over a sink, fill the sink with water or place a towel at the bottom.
- Brush the denture with a soft-bristled denture brush or a soft toothbrush to prevent stain and food debris accumulation.
- Toothpaste is too abrasive.
- We recommend using a denture cleaner available in stores, or a drop of antibacterial hand soap or dishwashing soap.
- Thorough rinse in warm (not hot) tap water. Or, try a small countertop ultrasonic cleaner.
- To allow gum tissue to rest, remove the denture at night. Additionally, place the denture in water or an overnight denture cleaner.
- Store safely away from pets.
Additional Information
- Phonetics may change upon insertion of the complete denture. Practice reading out loud to allow quicker adaptation to the new prosthesis.
- Remember to place food on both sides of the mouth and chew on both sides to allow for a more even distribution of stress throughout the masticatory system.
- If your denture is not fitting correctly, a follow-up appointment with the dentist is necessary for further instruction.
Disposal
- Disposing of complete dentures involves treating them as potentially biohazardous waste due to the risk of bodily fluids.
- For home disposal, if you have old dentures, contact your dentist for proper procedures.
- They can't just be thrown in the trash
- They might be incinerated or managed as regulated waste for environmental safety.
- Biohazard Classification: Unclaimed dentures are often treated as regulated medical waste.
- Specialized Disposal: Clinics use licensed medical waste companies (like MedPro Disposal, BioServ) for collection, treatment, and safe disposal, often by incineration
