Tip Sterilization
- Remove the scanning tip from the scanner
- Replace the scanning tip with the protective tip
- Wipe the base with disinfecting wipes, being careful to avoid the air vents and the electric outlet of the scanner. Set aside.
- Want: cleaning/disinfectant wipes containing Isopropanol (17.2%) and Ammonium Chloride.
- Wash the scanning tip(s) with soap and warm water for 2 minutes.
- Dry the tip(s)
- Place a 4x4 gauze on the mirror(s) of the tip(s) before placing them in the autoclave bag(s)
- It protects the mirror during sterilization and stays on throughout.
- Autoclave at 273.2 degrees Fahrenheit (134 degrees Celsius) for 3-6 minutes to sterilize.
- If your machine has a plastic setting, do not use this setting.
- If visible smudges or debris are present on the scanner lens, use a microfiber cloth to wipe it clean.
- It prevents scratching and deposition of filament residue on the lens
