Maximize chair time and even place orders outside of typical appointments with previously captured Diagnostic Scans. Depending on your case, you may be prompted to capture additional scans when necessary.
Please note: You must be using your Dandy laptop to follow the workflow detailed in this article.
How to Place Orders with Diagnostic Scans
Step 1 - Navigate to the Patients tab in Chairside

From the Chairside home screen, select the 'Patients' tab to access your patient scans.
Step 2 - Locate and select the respective patient
- From the list of scanned patients, find the patient for whom you wish to place an order.
- Click their name to view their scans.
Step 3 - Select 'Order Using These Scans'

On the patient’s scan page, select 'Order Using These Scans' on the existing Diagnostic Scan to begin your order.

You will be brought into the Chairside Case Setup flow to add additional order details
- Important: You must be using your Dandy laptop and the patient must have an existing Diagnostic Scan to access the 'Order Using These Scans' button.
Step 4 - Proceed with Case Setup
- If your order requires additional scans, Chairside will prompt you to capture them (e.g., for a crown case).
- If no additional scans are needed, you will automatically proceed to the Checkout workflow on Chairside after completing the Case Setup workflow.
- Follow the guided prompts in Chairside to complete the necessary steps for your specific order.
Step 5 - Complete the Checkout flow, and place your order
- Complete the Checkout flow and add any remaining details for your order.
- Press the 'Place Order' button to submit your order.
