This article details how to pause and resume orders on the Order Details Page of the Doctor Portal. Pausing an order allows you to temporarily halt an order’s progress due to specific needs (e.g., more time to review or patient-requested delays), giving you control to resume when ready.
Note: once an order is paused, it will remain paused for 45 days. If you do not resume the order after 45 days, it will be slotted for deletion. Steps for resuming an order are included below.
How to Pause an Order
Step 1: Login to the Dandy Portal
- Login to your account at practice.meetdandy.com
Step 2: Select the 'Orders' tab
- Once logged in, select the 'Orders tab' to navigate to the Orders List Page.
Step 3: Select the order you wish to pause
- On the Orders List Page (shown below), locate and select the order your wish to pause.
Step 4: Locate the 'Quick order actions' menu on the Order Details Page
- Once you've selected the order you wish to pause in the previous step, you will be brought to the Order Details Page.
- Locate the 'Quick order actions' menu on this page (shown below).
Step 5: Select the 'Pause order' button
- Select the 'Pause order' button from the Quick order actions menu.
Step 6: Select the reason for the pause
- On the the menu that automatically populates, select the reason why you are pausing this order.
Step 7: Select 'Pause order'
- After you've added the reason for the pause, select the 'Pause order' button to initiate the pause.
Step 8: View the updated, paused order status on order tracker
- The order tracker will now display messaging about the pause that you initiated and the steps to take to resume the order when ready.

Step 3: Select the order you wish to resume
- On the Orders List Page (shown below), locate and select the order your wish to resume.

- Select either of the 'Resume order' buttons available on the Order Details Page.
Step 5: View the updated, resumed order status on order tracker
- The order tracker will now display messaging about the order being resumed.

Are there any lab products that I am unable to pause using the 'Pause order' button?
Yes, the 'Pause order' button is not available for Aligners orders.
Is there a point in my order's fabrication that I cannot use the 'Pause order' button?
Orders can be placed on pause at any time in the fabrication process before the item is shipped.
I've paused my order. When will I be charged for it?
You will not be charged for an order while it is paused. Charges will appear on your invoice only after the order is resumed. For instance, if an order is placed and paused in October, it won’t show up on the October invoice. If the order is resumed in November, it will appear on the November invoice.
