Perform the iTero Scanning Workflow
Access the Scanning Page
Click the Scanner icon in the ribbon at the top of the iTero screen to begin the scanning process.
Scan the Prep Site
Center the preparation site within the viewfinder crosshair.
Begin scanning with an occlusal view of the preparation to visualize the margin.
Roll the iTero wand from the lingual side to the buccal side of the preparation.
Roll the iTero wand from the distal side to the mesial side of the preparation.
Review the scan immediately and fill any significant voids in the digital model.
Scan the Lower and Upper Arches
Follow the blue outline on the screen to identify which arch to scan first.
Move the iTero wand in a path following the occlusal surfaces, then the lingual surfaces, and finally the buccal surfaces.
Capture the Bite Registration
Direct the patient to bite down into their natural occlusion.
Use an upper and lower "swooping" motion with the wand to scan from the posterior teeth to the canine.
Repeat this motion on both the left and right sides of the mouth.
Confirm a purple overlay appears on both sides of the digital model, which indicates the bite is successfully articulated.
Review and Submit the Order
Select the Magnifying Glass icon from the top ribbon to process the scans.
Review the completed scans for accuracy and detail.
Click the Mail icon and select Send when the confirmation pop-up appears to submit the case to Dandy.
