Remove Scan Data with the Trim Tool
Follow these steps to remove unwanted data from your digital scans using the Trim tool.
1. Navigate to the Arch
Select the specific arch (upper or lower) you wish to edit within the Chairside interface.
2. Access the Trim Tool
Click the Trim icon located on the bottom left-hand side of the screen.
3. Select a Trim Method
Choose one of the following icons to determine how the scan data will be removed:
Brush: Removes data with a rounded edge as you move the cursor.
Scalpel: Creates a trim with a rounded edge for precise removal.
Patch: Produces a circular trim on any area clicked once.
4. Set the Trim Width
Select the desired width for the Trim tool to control the size of the area being removed:

5. Apply the Trim to the Scan
Use the mouse cursor to apply the chosen trim method to the scan:
Click and drag the cursor over the area you wish to remove.
The selected area will be highlighted in blue.
Release the mouse button to delete the highlighted area from the scan.
6. Undo or Cancel Changes
If you make a mistake, use the following options:
Undo/Redo: Use these buttons to revert or reapply specific trim actions.
Cancel: Select this to delete all changes made during the current Trim tool session.
7. Confirm and Rescan
Click Done to confirm all changes. Once the unwanted data is removed, you may rescan the trimmed areas to capture new data.
