In certain situations you may be able to add an item to an in progress order. This article will go over the steps to take and if your order qualifies for an extra 'add-on' item.
Example: You have placed an order for a crown and wish to add a retainer to the order.
Available 'add-on' items:
- Retainers
- Night guard
- Sports guard
- Bleaching tray
When can 'add-on' items be submitted?
- If the original order is still in progress. If the order has shipped the 'add-on' feature will not be available.
- If the original order is a denture or aligners case the add-on' feature will not be available.
Additional Consideration
- Adding an extra item to an in progress order will trigger the original order to be cancelled and resubmitted (the workflow navigates you through the process). This will result in a longer timeline for the original order. Since the order is resubmitted, the turn around time will restart. If this is not an issue, continue to the below step-by-step instructions.
Step 1 - Navigate to the patient's case in the Dandy portal
Step 2 - Locate the 'Modify Rx' button on the order you wish to add an item to
Step 3 - Select 'Add Extra'
Step 4 - Select any of the items listed
After a selection has been made click 'Next'
Step 5 - Select specific design options to proceed
Once all design options are set click 'Add to Order'
Step 6 - Select 'Next' to proceed
If you would also like to edit an item from the original order you may do so at this stage. Click 'Next' to continue
Step 7 - Acknowledge delay and click 'Submit as New Order'
A 'split order' for the add-on item will be listed on the original order with a separate delivery date.
