Set up the case in Dandy Portal
Select Product and Tooth
Navigate to the Fixed Restorations category within the Dandy Portal.
Select Crown for the restoration type.
Indicate the specific tooth or teeth numbers for treatment.
Select the checkbox if the crown must fit under an existing partial denture to automatically add required scans to the workflow.
Choose Materials and Shades
Select the crown material based on case requirements.
Select the base shade using Vita Classic or 3D Master shade guides.
Add optional gingival and incisal shades for a precise match.
Upload a shade tab photograph using the provided HIPAA-compliant QR code.
Select Start Scanning to initiate the scanning process.
Perform Intraoral Scanning Process
Capture Preliminary Scans
Complete the lower arch scan before prepping the patient.
Complete the upper arch scan.
Capture both bite scans.
Capture Final Preparation Scan
Clean and dry the preparation area thoroughly after preparing the patient.
Scan the prepped tooth, ensuring clear visibility of margins and interproximal contacts.
Follow the occlusal, lingual, and buccal scan path for each arch.
Turn off dental or loop lights during scanning, as the scanner provides its own illumination.
Review and Adjust Scanning Data
Evaluate Scan Quality
Use the review scan menu to evaluate digital impressions from various views.
Adjust the scans as needed to ensure data accuracy.
Confirm the treated tooth is correctly identified using the Mark Tooth feature.
Verify Preparation Requirements
Inspect the digital scans for sufficient occlusal reduction and lack of undercuts.
Trace the margins to ensure they are clearly visible for fabrication.
Use the review scans page to confirm the case is ready for order submission.
Submit Order and Finalize Case
Add Supplemental Items
Choose to include additional items such as night guards, bleaching trays, or retainers.

Select the Digital Design Preview if a visual review of the design is required.
Note: Opting for a preview may affect the fabrication timeline.
Review and Place Order
Review all selections and add specific instructions for the lab.
Attach any necessary files or photos via the provided QR code.
Confirm delivery options and select Place Order to submit the case to Dandy.
