Recognizing the Error Message
Various error messages may indicate the 'scanner disconnected' error in Medit Link/Medit Scan. We have provided pictures of the messages below:
The scanner is turned off
Connection failed
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Process
Step 1 - Check Hardware Connections
- Ensure all wires are securely connected.
- Verify that the medical adapter has a green light, indicating sufficient voltage.
- Hold down the power button on the back of the scanner for 1-2 seconds. A blue light should appear at the front of the scanner, indicating it's powered on.
Note: If the hardware is connected properly, but the scanner still shows as disconnected, proceed to the next step.
Step 2 - Access Device Manager
- Navigate to the Start menu on your computer.
- Type 'Device Manager' and select it from the options.
- In the Device Manager, look for 'Medit Devices', which will be its own category, and 'Medit Controller', which will likely fall under 'Ports'.
Note: If these devices do not appear in the list, follow the below steps:
Step 3 - Check USB Connection
- Try connecting the scanner to a different USB port.
