Below, we've outlined crown & bridge scanning best practice techniques that will increase the likelihood of success for your case:
- Turn off any overhead dental lighting and loupe lights.
- When beginning a scan, turn on your scanner over the occlusal surface of a molar/premolar.
- Dry any edentulous tissue before attempting to scan it.
- Retract the cheeks, lips, and tongue completely, especially in posterior cases.
- Hold your scanner close (nearly touching) the teeth and soft tissue you are scanning, as the scanner is distance-sensitive.
- Move the scanner significantly slower over edentulous areas or soft tissue.
- Scan both full arches to completion.
