When should you re-scan the patient?

We recommend re-scanning the patient when the original restorative has any of the following: open interproximal contact, open margins, open occlusion, thin occlusion, or abutment fit issues.

Re-scans are a suggestions, we are able to refabricate orders without a re-scan.

If it is only a shade issue or a design/aesthetics issue, you do not need to re-scan the patient, but we highly recommend including images.

Examples:

  1. The images of the crown in the patient's mouth.
  2.  Images of the crown next to the desired shade tabs.
  3. The desired smile guide.
