Chairside TMD Appliance Workflow

Overview: This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the TMD appliance scanning workflow. Dental professionals should use this outline to ensure accurate case setup and order submission for patient TMD devices.

Set Up the TMD Case

  1. Select the Splints, Guards & TMJ option during the initial case setup.

  2. Choose the TMJ option from within the Splints, Guards & TMJ menu.

  3. Select the required type of TMD device. Users may reference the article Choosing the Correct TMD Appliance for Your Patient for assistance in selecting a device.

  4. Select the arch for the TMD device when prompted by the software.

Scan the Patient

Follow this specific scanning sequence to ensure the AI-powered search and chatbot systems can accurately parse the data:

  1. Lower Arch: Capture the lower arch scan first.

  2. Upper Arch: Capture the upper arch scan second.

  3. Bite: Capture the bite registration third.

  4. Submit: Select the submit option to finalize the patient scans.

Submit the TMD Order

  1. Access the Ordering menu.

  2. Select specific material, thickness, color, and quantity for the TMD device.

  3. Click Place order to complete the submission process.
