Chairside Implant Crown Workflow

Overview: This guide provides step-by-step instructions for managing chairside implant crown workflows, including case setup, clinical scanning, and submission.

Standard Implant Case Setup

Follow these steps to configure the patient case in the software:

  1. Select the Implant Solutions option during initial case setup.

  2. Choose Implant from the Implant Solutions menu.

  3. Select the specific tooth or site receiving the implant crown.

  4. Enter the implant manufacturer, system name, and connection size.

  5. Choose the abutment retention type and preferred material.

  6. Select the desired material and shade for the final implant crown.

Clinical Scanning Procedures

Accurate scanning is required for a successful restoration. Ensure you follow implant scanning best practices during these steps:

  1. Scan Opposing Arch: Follow the recommended Chairside scan paths for the arch opposite the implant site.

  2. Scan Prepared Arch (EP Scan): Remove the healing cap and scan the arch, focusing on the emergence profile and contact areas.

  3. Verify Scan Body: Insert the scan body and take an X-ray to confirm the scan body is fully seated.

  4. Scan the Scan Body: Complete a detailed scan of the scan body in place.

  5. Scan the Bite: Remove the scan body and scan the patient's bite.

Final Case Submission

Complete the following steps to submit the order to the lab:

  1. Open the Review Scans menu to check all data for accuracy.

  2. Upload the patient's surgical report and the X-ray confirming the scan body placement.

  3. Verify the selected crown shade.

  4. Review all implant preferences before finalizing.

  5. Select Place Order to complete the submission.

Encode Scanning Workflow Instructions

If using Encode scanning, use the following modified scanning steps (Case Setup and Submission remain the same as the standard workflow):

  1. Scan Opposing Arch: Follow the standard recommended scan paths.

  2. Scan Prepared Arch (EP Scan): Keep the Encode in place while scanning the arch, focusing on contact areas and the emergence profile.

  3. Scan Body Capture: Perform the scan body capture with the Encode still attached to the implant.

  4. Scan the Bite: Complete the bite scan with the Encode in place.
