Overview: This article provides clinicians with a step-by-step guide for configuring and scanning dental bridge cases within the Chairside software.
Bridge Case Setup and Instructions
Initial Case Configuration
Select the Fixed Restorations option during the initial case setup in the Chairside software.
Choose Bridge from the Fixed Restorations menu.
Identify each tooth involved in the bridge on the digital tooth map and label the tooth as an abutment crown, a pontic, or a wing for a Maryland Bridge.
-
Select the preferred material and shade for the bridge from the configuration menus.
Note: If the clinician is performing a fixed restoration combined with a partial denture, refer to the "Chairside Combo Case Workflow: Fixed Restoration + Partial" guide.
Scanning Sequence and Verification
Perform the scanning sequence in this exact order: Lower Arch, Upper Arch, Bite, Prep Scan, Review Scan, and Submit Order.
Use the Skip pre-prep button if a pre-prep scan is not required. Clinicians must select this button on the menu before beginning the scan of the specific prep arch.
Mark the specific teeth involved in the bridge on the digital scan once the clinician completes the scan of the arch receiving the bridge.
-
Verify that the bridge prep scan captures a clear, visible margin and both proximal contacts of the adjacent, unprepped teeth.
Tip: Start the scanner over the occlusal surface of an adjacent tooth and move the scanner slowly over the bridge prep.
Confirm the occlusal reduction on the Review Scans menu before proceeding.
Select Place Order to finalize the case.
