How to Navigate Chairside

This article walks through general navigation of the Chairside software.

General Tour of Chairside:

A tour of the various fields on the Home page of Chairside.

On the homepage, there are 3 large white boxes that are important to know:

  1. The box on the left labeled, Start a case, contains the button to begin a new case. It is labeled 'Start'.
    • It also notes if the scanner is connected or not
    • It will display any cases that were started but not submitted
  2. In the middle of the screen is the Notifications box
    • Any notifications or messaging from Dandy to your practice will be displayed there.
  3. The box on the right labeled track your orders, displays orders you've sent to Dandy, organized by patient name.
    • To view an order in more detail, click on the patient's name

At the top of the homepage, you'll find more navigation features:

Patients

This tab displays all patients that you have entered into the software.

Orders

This tab displays all orders that you have sent to Dandy.

Lab Products

This tab allows you to review information on Dandy's lab products and connect with a specialist if you have more in-depth questions.

Scanbodies

In this tab, you can place orders for scanbodies for your implant cases

Account

Contains links to adjust your account, profile, and practice information, billing, and more.

Help

This tab will direct you to the Help Center.

Chat

This tab will direct you to chat with Dandy's support team.

Volume Icon

Allows you to control the volume of the laptop and scanner.

Power Icon

Allows you to prompt calibration, sign out of your account, and adjust system settings.


Account Navigation:

Learn where to make adjustments to your account information, notification preferences, and user profiles.

When you click the Account tab, there are 3 options available to choose from:

  1. Invoices
  2. My Profile
  3. My Practice

Invoices

This page allows you to review a comprehensive list of your invoice history.

My Profile

On this page, there are 3 links on the left-hand side of the screen, with fields related to your profile.

  1. My Profile
    • Allows you to adjust your
      • profile picture
      • full name
      • contact information
  2. Notifications
    • Allows you to select your notification preferences.
      • Specifically, whether you would like Dandy to contact you via Email, SMS, or both.
  3. Clinical Preferences
    • Allows you to set your clinical preferences for each restoration and prosthesis.
      • Select an icon to set your clinical preferences for that lab product.

My Practice

On this page, there are 5 links on the left-hand side of the screen, with fields related to your practice.

  1. Doctors
    • Allows you to add and remove doctors from your account.
  2. Staff
    • Allows you to add and remove staff from your account.
  3. Delivery Addresses
    • Allows you to update your practice's delivery address.
  4. Payment Methods
    • Allows you to add and update your payment method(s).
  5. Practice Settings
    • Allows you to update your practice's:
      • Name
      • Login Email
      • Account Password

System Settings:

Learn where to adjust settings related to your scanner, laptop, and Chairside software.

To Access System Settings:

  1. Select the power icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  2. Select 'System Settings' from the drop-down menu

System Settings Page

On this page, there are 3 setting links on the left-hand of the screen

  1. Scanner
    • Allows to adjust settings related to:
      • Your preferred scanning style
      • How long we store your scans
      • Enabling and disabling review mode and auto-tooth marking
      • Adjusting auto-tooth diameters
  2. Laptop
    • Allows you to adjust the number of minutes of Idle time before being logged out
  3. Tips & Tricks
    • Allows you to enable or disable:
      • General tips & tricks 
      • Animations that appear in the software while scanning

Starting a New Case:

Learn how to start a new case for an appointment.

To start a new case for a new patient:

  1. Click the 'Start' button
  2. Enter the patient's
    • First and Last name
    • Gender
    • Date of Birth
  3. Click the 'Create & Continue' button
  4. Select the category of the restoration or prosthesis you are scanning for. The options are:
    • Fixed Restorations
    • Implant Solutions
    • Splints, Guards & TMJ
    • Ortho
    • Dentures
    • Sleep & Accessories
    • Wellness Scans
  5. Select which type of restoration or prosthesis you are scanning for
  6. Select the tooth or teeth you plan to prep and scan and click the 'Next' button
  7. Select the material and click the 'Next' button
  8. Select the shade and click the 'Add to Order' button
  9. To start scanning, click the 'Start scanning' button
